This is a nice strong dose. It is probably better for those who are slightly deficient, than for those with an already healthy level. 4,000 IU is a lot if you don't need it. That said, my doctor said that as soon as you feel that you are getting sick to take a high dose of vitamin D (like 10,000 IU for an adult, half that for a child) and it will help prevent an illness. It has worked for us so far.Now, those are some higher doses and you do have to be careful if you are going to take this long term. Vitamin D is fat soluble and will not be washed out in your urine, like vitamin C. Taking too much for a long period can lead to calcium deposits in soft tissues. One or two days (like when you are getting ill) should be fine. But, of course, always consult your doctor about this.If you are deficient (you can request a test from your Doctor) this is a good product to use. There is no taste and you only need to take a 1 or 2 drops. Fast and painless.The bottle is pretty small, so it is easy to take along with you if needed.

This is a great brand. Since it’s liquid your body absorbs it much better. I was severely out of range with my vitamin d and this got it back up and then done very quick. Easy to take.

I love this product, and I recommend to all of my patients at Sunflower Wellness Center in Santa Fe, NM. It is super-concentrated, so one only has to take several drops to get a nice big dose, and since most people are Vit D deficient, that is what I typically recommend! (Do not exceed 10K/day without a health care practitioner's consult, as you can definitely get too much!)I had a patient recently whose Vit D level tested at 19 (optimal is 70-90); after just 2.5 months of 10 drops per day of these 4,000IU drops, her level is now 57. Very absorbable, very effective, no flavor so it's easy to take.The only drawback is that the dropper on these bottles is not at all cooperative - I always recommend my patients take off the plastic dropper insert and just use a squeeze-dropper to measure out and take their daily dose.
