Sew Steady Free Motion Quilting Slider Mat 12 x 18

Just received it and am learning to free motion quilting

I've had a pink Super Slider for a long time and bought this one because I couldn't find the other and this was so much larger. I love the size, even though I wish it was even larger. It's really easy to use. Be sure to save the tube it comes in (no sword fighting with it!!!) so you can store it when you aren't using it. It adheres easily to the bed of my Bernina, to my Sew Steady acrylic table insert, and to the surface of my sewing table as well as the cutting mat I keep on the table next to my insert. It is easy to take up as well. I just roll it up and clip it with two wonder clips then slide it into the tube to store it.It works really well, too, which is the main thing. Now if only it was as large as the top of my Gidget I sewing table from the right side of my machines table to the left side of the sewing table! or if they made a larger one that could bridge from my sewing table to the support surfaces beyond it, that would be a happy thing.Mine is the white one and does not have the markings on it. I thought that the colored one would be distracting and I didn't see the need for the markings since I'm only using it for quilting. Your mileage may vary. You can't go wrong with the Sew Steady mat.

Been free motion quilting for about 6 years and didn't think I needed a slider. When I took it from the package, it fit perfectly. The fabric glided on the Sew Steady ... what a difference. It was shipped in a circular tube which I kept. When I return to regular sewing, I will roll the Sew Steady up an replace it in the package for storage till I need it again.

I just got an Elna machine with an extention table, and just got in to a bit of quilting. This slide mat is great for free-motion quilting. Easy to use and easy to store.

It works but is not as slippery as the supreme slider. Maybe because this seems to have a little texture to it and the SS one I have is perfectly smooth
