I regret buying this computer
This is not a very good computer.First of all, the built-in, non-upgradeable SSD is only 32 GB, and the operating system fills most of that. I constantly get messages warning me of low disk space, and there’s nothing I can do. I’m at my wits’ end trying figure out what more I can remove. I’ve already uninstalled Google Chrome, for instance, relying on Edge instead, which I’m not happy about. It’s very difficult even to find the hard drive space to install routine updates. The RAM also isn’t upgradeable, resulting in a lot of virtual memory issues.Second, the system just isn’t very stable. I don’t know what the problem is, exactly—it might be a hardware issue or a software issue—but it randomly shuts off and/or blacks out. It seems to be that the system is either overheating or the graphics driver is crashing. I had hoped that these problems would be resolved with the latest software updates, but so far, no luck. There are various minor problems, too. The SD card controller keeps crashing, or maybe a physical connection comes loose inside—either way, I am occasionally simply unable to access the SD card reader without restarting the computer. This is a bigger deal than it sounds since, due to the small built-in SSD, I keep an SD card in the computer constantly with as much software as possible installed to it rather than the internal drive. When this happens, whatever software I am running off the SD card crashes.I just wanted a simple, portable, no-frills Windows device that works. This one doesn’t. I wish I hadn’t bought it.

Disappointing
This was a huge disappointment. I loved the computer when it arrived, but after about one week, a lot of alerts started coming up and the computer started processing very very slowly. I had downloaded only one program -- Libre Open Office for word processing-- and I saved some of these word documents on the computer. I don't download videos or photos or open emails from unknown sources. Nevertheless, the computer operated worse and worse every day. Another irritating quirk was that when I was connected to the wifi at my house, it would unexpectedly disconnect. I'd have to re-connect 5-6 times per day. I called for technical support and could only reach non-native English speakers who weren't able to understand me. I was given a phone number for another tech support at the manufacturer, but that representative (who seemed very competent) told me that he had to call me back the following morning. I sat by the phone from 6:00 am until 1:00 pm and he never called. So all-in-all, this computer was a mistake and I regret investing time in it. It's disappointing to have a computer start going downhill after only one week, and then not to have technical support.

Great value
This is a quirky laptop to carry around. Super small and lightweight. I pop the screen off to read or watch videos. Pretty handing to take notes, write emails, and papers. On the downside, the performance is quite slow, and a little buggy. Mine also needed further license to use Microsoft Office, but maybe thats just how Windows is nowadays. If this is considered a tablet, then it is a very good tablet, yet compared to notebooks it is not competitive. As a bonus, a lot of people check it out in public.

Affordable convertible windows laptop
I received the refurbished laptop like new. I liked it so far after using it for a few days. It handles the basics without too much hassle with an IPS screen, great battery life, and a surprisingly usable keyboard for its size. I considered it as a convertible laptop with the multimode design. The detachable keyboard allows the machine to adopt four different operating modes (Laptop, Tablet, Tent, and Stand). I also considered it as a versatile windows-based devices. It is much better than a Chromebook as it is not limited by the Chrome OS. So If you're looking for a basic and good old budget device who would rather not surrender the uncontested versatility of the Windows operating system, you should definitely consider it.

Very nice computer but little space left on ssd.
very nice computer but ssd was overloaded and Windows updates did not have enough room to work. Became a significant problem that never was able to resolve.

The pavilion arrived on time and in working condition. The documentation was for a similar notebook and could not find the on/off button. We love the way the detachable display is attached by two strong magnets.

Won't Power On after 8 months of owning-
I purchased this computer in April, for my daughter who was going to college. She used it for about a month and started to have difficulty with it turning on. It eventually did turn on. Then, just right before finals last week (just 8 months later) it won't turn on at all. I emailed the company over a week ago for suggestions or asking for an exchange. I did not hear back. I later read that this computer has an issue with not turning on. I called HP only to be told that it would cost $400-$500 to repair.

My husband is not techie at all. He thought he wanted a tablet, but I knew he would hate it, because he is used to using a laptop computer. This was a really good crossover, and he really loves it!
