Q: My son is 9 what size should I order?

My son is an average if not a tad on the slender side for a 6 year old and I put him in a medium. I jumped a size because I wanted to be sure the armor fit. I would think a large would fit your standard 9 year old well. But I would probably jump one size up if they have the child's xl. The base suit is very true to size so having it a tad bigger actually adds to the pants and helps them look more like traditional samurai. The armor is another story. It seems small however, if he is skinny you may have to ad some velcro or whichever trick you like to use to the belt. As it is attached to itself with velcro and doesn't have it along the entire area. To simplify, true to size but one size is always good if you're concerned about it being too small.
