Would these be suitable for bbq-ing over a small fire pit?

It depends what your cooking but these burn very quickly so you would end up using quite a lot. In my Ooni pizza oven a handfull will burn hot for 10-15 minutes. I would suggest a mix of these and maybe some lump wood charcoal if you want to cook for longer. Not sure if I'm allowed to recommend another product here but I would recommend Alderline Charcoal lights quickly and is very clean burning

What weight of wood is in the box please?

Each box weighs approximately 4kg, the oak wood is kiln dried and therefore does not weigh much!

What is the moisture content of the wood?
