Okay for a year or two
For this price and my hard to get size, I'll tolerate things like less than great tread, and the fact that they don't wear as well as leather would. I'm a repeat purchaser of this model shoe. I weigh 250, and walk less than I should. These shoes typically last me 2 good years before the sole wears smooth and the tops begin to flake and crack (remember, not leather). At the low purchase price, they are worth buying. If the price drifts above $50, invest in leather shoes.

Great shoe.
I have purchased this make and model of shoe from Payless for over 20 years and have not found anything disappointing with them. They are extremely comfortable and lasts a long time. I hope they are around for another 20+ years.

Nice looking and comfortable.
These shoes fit me just right and I like the velcro straps. I've purchased them before at Payless so I know they are good shoes. They last a long time and are a good value for the money. I like these better than more expensive brands that I've had in the past.

Easy on and off
I've been wearing these shoes for many many years. With the velcro straps, they are easy on and off. I work on boats and often need to remove shoes before boarding the vessel. These are comfortable and hold up well. Also these are available in the wide size I require. I will be ordering these as long as they are manufactured. I tried the Dr. Scholl's version of the wide velcro strap shoe sold at Walmart and they don't fit near as well as these do.

I started wearing these a few years ago and when the Payless in the mall closed.....These shoes are simple, comfortable and I like them

Know that it's an inexpensive shoe
With my usual shoe discontinued, thought I would give these a try. This shoe is one I'll wear to tromp around the yard, perhaps get a little muddy, and, generally, be pretty hard on them. When they're worn out, toss them and get another pair. Getting another pair probably won't be the case with these. Contrary to the product description, they are not sized as specified. In my case, they are at least .5 inch short and narrower that specified. Not unwearable, but not as comfortable as I'm used to. Heel and arch support is fine, but little padding under the ball of the foot. I think a pebble will be felt! Also notice one shoe is slightly smaller than the other! Just keep in mind they are inexpensive and you get what you pay for.

Very Sturdy Shoes
This was a gift. My son has been wearing this type of shoe for many years. I was happy to see these were solidly built and that the fit was exactly what we needed.

Comfortable; not durable
I like these shoes because they are leather-free, comfortable, inexpensive, and readily available in my size. I do need to get a new pair every year because the fabric tears, which is wasteful. I'd add two stars if they were more durable.
