Cuisinart Cheese Mill

Well-designed grater that goes from refrigerator to table top. Simply cut a long, narrow block of Parmesan, Romano or whatever cheese you wish to fit inside the cylinder, replace the top, and place on the table about an hour before you sit down, so the cheese can reach room temp for easy grating. Afterwards, replace the mill in the refrigerator to stay fresh. No directions are included, but after playing with it a while, I figured out how the black trim lid on the bottom pulls off so you can grate the cheese right over your plate, and then replaces to keep cheese off your table. Just make sure that the grater disc on the bottom has sharps facing up and the black plastic disc at the top has the textured side facing down. These act together to push the cheese down against the grating surface and out the bottom.

Love that it is fully self contained. It is a little flimsy but I haven't had any major issues with it when it's cold - only if the cheese is harder like the portions that are close to the rind.

Cheese must be fresh and not too hard. Too much pressure and mine broke during second use on the second day after being in the fridge. Great concept...just poor materials choice...and my money is in the trash.

I really like the way this operates. But when the whole thing is refrigerated, it is really hard to turn the grater. I'm sure that is because the cheese is harder when it's cold. But, I was really hoping this would make grating the cheese easier and safer. I still like it better than scraping the cheese on an old fashioned grater. I think if the moving parts were metal, the weight of them might help do the work. But this one is mostly plastic.

I loved this so much I have bought it again as a present and plan on buying more at Christmas as presents. So easy to use, and store! I love that I can customize my cheese blends, and it is always ready to use. Easy to refill too!

this is very hard to use

I like this item because it is a nice looking piece that can just be set on a table and anyone can use it as needed. It is fun to use. The only problem is that the bottom cap does not stay on. Improvement needs to be made to this cap so that the whole unit can be passing along or store neatly without a mess of grated cheese spilling out everywhere.

Good concept but not for soft cheeses. Even on first time use with soft brick cheese the internal part that pushes the cheese down jams in the threads from the cheese that collects in the threaded groves when you try to turn the grater backwards to remove grater parts. The internal part appears to jump the threads due to the cheese buildup and cross threads and jams. Only way to retrieve the parts is to remove the bottom and twist the device clockwise to drive the internal plunger part out the bottom. Not sure how many times it will survive being jammed before the plastic threads will no longer hold the plunger. Disappointing as it is exactly what I wanted for a grater.

Hard to turn, cannot put alot of cheese at a time

No es tan funcional, cada que pones un trozo de queso hay casi que desarmarlo todo, no lo recomiendo, te saca del apuro pero no es de gran calidad. Con menos de un año de servicio SE ROMPIÓ.Cómpralo si quieres experimentar, NO lo compres si quieres un rallador de queso que sirva que sea útil y práctico.
