Shrinky Dinks Minis Vehicles

These just arrived today and my kiddos had a great time with them. They baked great in our toaster oven. They do curl up midway through baking and you LITERALLY need to let them keep baking while standing there watching so they don’t burn or whatever Shrinky Dinks do if left in too long. Two of ours looked like there was no hope they were very misshapen and weird. I resisted the urge to intervene and it paid off, they finally all flattened out perfectly! This set comes with little cardboard stands and all fit perfectly and stand up except for the rocket ship. There just isn’t enough Shrinky Dink at the bottom to keep it standing. All in all, it was a good purchase, it entertained two boys and a girl ages 8, 4 and 3 for about an hour because they were “taking their time...”

I purchased these for my sons and they did not turn out. I followed directions exactly and even tried several alternative methods the box suggested and they curled up and the edges stuck together.. I even tried one at a time and they would not work. I was very disappointed but luckily my son wasn't upset.UPDATE: I contacted company and to make a long story short, they determined my shrinky dinks didn't work because I did not pre-heat the pan in the oven. I checked my packaging and it did not specify to do so. I was very happy with the companies response and I would recommend you preheat the pan in the oven even if the package does not inlude that step in the directions.

These worked really well for the most part.It was a really fun family activity, but it made my 4-year-old cry. We explained how they work and showed him a video on YouTube. He was so excited UNTIL they went into the oven and started to shrink! Cue the waterworks - he didn’t stop crying for close to 1 hour then fell asleep. On the bright side, his helicopter looks awesome - we just had to hide it for now...

My son loved these. They were a lot of fun. For more colors, you'll want your own colored pencils. Also, the paper "stands" that come with it really don't work. We punched a hole in them before baking so they might be able to be on a string or keychain. The whole magic shrinking part is great for a four-year old, though :)

We purchased this set of Shrinky Dinks for our four year old sons (twins) for Christmas. There was a nice variety of vehicles in the pack, as well as a selection of colored pencils to spark their creativity. I used this product as a child, and what I forgot was to poke a small hole in the product before baking, so that they can be used on a keychain or even as an ornament. We will purchase this product again in the future.

My 4 year old son loved these so much more then I thought he would! He was so excited to create something. A bonus for me is that they are super hard to ruin- I left it in the over a bit longer then I was suppose to and it just got super small, not burned :-). We will buy these again.

We loved them, worked just as old shrinky dinks did. We turned the oven temp down a little though. These are really small and you have to poke your own hole I them if you want to hang them, so 4 stars for that.

I had fun with Shrinky Dinks as a kid and my kids have now had fun with them! After we shrunk them, we put them in a little box that the kids decorated. We call this box our, "story box". We tell stories using the shrink dinks as starters. Cheap way to have fun.
