I LOVE IT
This post works great. I tried adjusting the tension to different levels and what worked best for me was leaving the adjusting screw almost all the way out. Before installing this post I could feel every single little bump and pebble on the road. Even with my tires filled at 65 psi (700C road bike) I could feel the road. Now that I have this post installed I can't feel the harsh road. Even going over railroad tracks is fine. It really does make a huge difference having this post installed. I weigh 170 pounds and this cushions the road for me just fine. I don't know what the max or minimum weight limit is for this thing, I just know that for my weight, it's great. I hope this helps, and I hope it works out for you too. This is a great product.

Not the best for heavier riders and measure before you order
Not high quality but not crap either. Good for the price and makes a significant difference in comfort on a hard tail bike. I wouldn't suggest it for someone over 150 160 lbs and be sure to properly measure in mm the id of the seat tube on your bike to order the right one do not guess 1mil off and it will not work

Good Enough
Of the several suspension posts available, the simple internal spring versions like this Sunlite Pillar would suitably smooth out most of the ride over ruts and chuck holes. I started using suspension in combination with a seat that helps absorb the shock because the bumps were causing sharp pains in my spine, and soon after installing this Sunlite Pillar and Cloud Nine seat never had give it any further thought. The tension is adjustable on the bottom, and it also has an unusual ability to pivot that the Amazon web page describes as "Collar adjustment for play removal". I would assume then that the knurled adjuster just below the dust cover removes play by turning it clockwise. That likely means it tightens up the inner post and helps lock it in place.BIKEMANFORU has a couple of videos on Youtube showing how to attach seat posts to bicycle seats.RJ THE BIKE GUY has a video on how to service suspension seat posts. There are several other suspension seat posts available ranging from around $16 all the way up over $300. At $21 this one is working just fine for me.

Does not function or adjust well
Might work for a small rider, but not me at 200 lb. No matter the collar adjustment for load setting, the post either slumps or locks in place, losing all cushion functionality. I am more comfortable with a solid, sturdy post.

It works fine
My bike is a Walmart kent fixie 700c. The only benefit of the sloping down top tube is more room for a seatpost like this. The stock seatpost measured 24.9mm and I was worried this 25.4mm would not fit in the bike frame. But it fit in just fine. Maybe better than the old one. I messed up my back on a deep pothole. Bent and almost broke my old seatpost. Cushion now is so nice

Bargain priced butt saver!
This inexpensive spring-loaded seat post is much better than I expected! I considered buying a much more expensive one like the ThudBuster but as an average sized woman I didn't think I needed much to offset the potholes in my commute. So I bought this one first and figured if it wasn't enough cush I could put it on one of my son's bikes. Well, it's perfect! It doesn't come with the clamps for the seat rails, but I had an extra that came with a seat that I bought for my son. I also needed a shim because this is a 27.2 post and my bike takes a 28.6. It's a $3-5 part and easy to source either here on Amazon or at any local bike shop. Well worth the total price, as long at it holds up for a reasonable amount of time I am more than satisfied.
