Lovely but not perfect
This is a very nice cuppa. As someone who takes black tea without milk quite a lot for a bit of a kick (and green tea otherwise), this is a lovely teabag because it’s got all the positives of black tea, but the slight twist of vanilla takes the edge off the bitterness and gives it a nice velvety richness that is strangely reminiscent of a quality coffee. Like a good-quality vanilla ice cream, the vanilla taste isn’t excessively sweet or sugary and feels authentic.Don’t waste these by sticking milk on them! For personal use, the packaging is excessive- individually wrapped, but at least wrapped in biodegradable materials so that’s not so bad- and this is a larger box than most supermarket-bought tea packets so on a tea shelf it takes up a bit too much space for just 25 bags. But that’s because it’s aimed more at presentation- posh conference/hotel use rather than something for your home cupboard. Perhaps that explains the rather excessive current asking price, which works out as more than a pound per teabag, which is fairly indefensible even for a very nice cup of tea. So for those reasons, rather than the taste itself, it’s 4 stars instead of 5 from me.

Very good tea for slow brewing in the mug
High quality tea bags, not made of paper but what appears to be a plastic of some type which has holes big enough to let water through but not tea leaves. The 'plastic' thing surprises me, but there is absolutely no plastic taste added to the cup of tea, I would like to know more about the material used, but I would be surprised if it wasn't bio-degradable, judging by the unusual feel of the bags. Each bag is in an individual envelope which makes them ideal for travel- when you want your own tea bags with you! There is a string and a tab on the end for making in a cup and indeed the instructions for brewing seem right to me. Do leave them for 3 minutes though, otherwise you will miss some of the taste. These tea bags are not overpoweringly flavoured and if you like a strong aftertaste you may be slightly disappointed, but these are 'refined' stimulating a palate that likes to examine its flavours rather than be mugged by them.I still slightly prefer Williamson's, but the travel-ability of these bags does rather incite me to buy them again. These are very good quality tea bags, for slow preparation and I would recommend.

A light black tea with a hint of vanilla
Vine review : Having visited the Seychelles many years ago I was first introduced to a proper black tea with a smooth strong vanilla of the Seyte brand, so I’ve always found it tricky to find anything that comes close. Clipper used to do a vanilla Assam which they keep discontinuing which is rather annoying and I had hoped this would be a good substitute. In short it’s a nice enough tea but unfortunately it is on the weak side and even brewing for long periods doesn’t give a bold black tea feel but it is pleasant and aromatic. If you like the lightness of earl grey and lady grey you’ll probably love these. My only other bugbear is the excessive packaging - poor show to have individual sachets made of plastic! And I do wonder if the pyramids beautiful as they are are really necessary

Weak flavour
The packaging is excellent. Each teabag is muslin in independent sealed outer bag. But I found the flavour, both the tea and the vanilla, rather weak.

A nice twist on black tea by the addition of a vanilla smell/taste. The vanilla comes from exhausted vanilla beans so although noticeable, it isn't strong enough to be sickly.Box looks professional with a tear off bottom to allow dispensing of the individually wrapped teabags. They have the expected string and tag to aid brewing. With the current issue of plastic in the news, it was sad to see plastic wrapping but it's not easy to keep things like this fresh without using plastic.Put in a cup and infuse in boiling water for 3 minutes and it gives a gorgeous cup of tea which, in my opinion, does not need sugar or milk. The list of ingredients is interesting: Black tea, exhausted vanilla beans natural flavouring and marigold petals.A reasonable price too.

Nice but not as sweet as I hoped
Product is nice enough but I've had better black/vanilla teas. The sweetness of the vanilla didn't come through for me on this one. I am astonished however to find each teabag wrapped in a small plastic envelope. I've contacted Unilever to find out if I am wrong and will update this review if/when I get a response but in this day and age packaging of any sort for individual teabags is utterly wasteful; and to have it made of plastic is exceptionally poor. So, thumbs down from me regardless of the tea taste.ETA I have now updated this review as Unilever have confirmed the packets are made of paper which is great news!

Quality teabag well packaged but not for me
As I drink my tea black I like a subtle cuppa rather than anything too strong, howver I found this teabag made a somewhat bland drink with not much of anything. There was a faint vanilla flavour but with none of the sweetness you would expect. The Pure Leaf breakfast tea is much nice, a good cup of tea with enough tannin and flavour to satisfy but still pale gold and not too strong. To be fair the whole thing about tea is that it is a matter of very personal taste.

mild taste wrapped in plastic
Taste wise its a mild black tea with an aroma of vanilla.I don't like the individually wrapped bag in plastic, they could have used paper like everybody else, more environmentally friendly than adding more plastic to our food chain.
