RUFFWEAR, Flat Out Dog Collar (Formerly Hoopie), Webbing Collar for Walking and Everyday Use

UPDATE- after 7 months of wear, the new collar already has multiple snags in it. Including pictures of the damage, the 2 collars are both Ruffwear- the green is the one we’ve had for many years now for our other dog, no issues with it at all. The blue is the one we bought in middle of 2018 and it has already started coming apart and showing visible wear. I originally reviewed the collar with 4 stars, because it seemed much thinner material than the one we already had, but I was hoping this wouldn’t affect anything so I kept it. Looking at the 2 collars now I don’t think you’d ever guess that the blue one was actually significantly newer. Still love Ruffwear, but very Disappointed that the quality has changed so much.

I wanted to love this collar. We bought two for our Rhodesian boxer, and pittie mix. Within 6 months, the collars are frayed (pretty bad), the silencer ring on it has fallen off of both, and we have lost a dog tag because the ring itself, fell off. Not to mention, on the one collar, it loosens by itself which we have to tighten daily so it doesn’t slide over our dogs head. :(

This is a great looking collar. It fit nicely and I liked the wide band. It’s put together nice. The silencer worked great.However, my dog is an 8 month old labradoodle and gets into everything! He had the collar since late March and today I noticed his tags were missing. The plastic clip holding his tags broke, bummer. I have to get new license and rabies tags. Wish it was a little more sturdy as it’s a key part of a collar.

This is definitely not the same quality of product Ruffwear once put out. The nylon they now use for their colors is paper thin and garbage if you ask me. I have 3 other Ruffwear colors which I ordered about 2-3 years ago and the quality back then is way better. I guess that also explains the reason why a lot of their products came down in price including this collar.

It looks super cool! I received this about 2 months ago and it broke in about 5 weeks. The plastic clip snapped. Aside from that, I wasn't big on the metal ring design in practice. Because the loop is smaller, the edge will push down the release on most standard clips. This happened three times to me in a month, so I switched to a carabiner. I recommend this anyways since it's possible for the same thing to happen with a D ring (but I will say it hasn't ever to me until I used this collar).My dog is a my dog is a 30lb, 7 month old Amstaff. Shes strong, but tiny. I assumed that it wouldn't last SUPER long, but dang.I threw it away and bought a $15.00 collar from Petco with a beefier clip. Point being, there are a lot of other options in this price range. I'll likely try out more Ruffware product in the future, but the Hoopie Collar was a bust.

I honestly was skeptical about buying this cause I was unfamiliar with the brand, and the colour in the picture looked kinda purple, but I wanted PINK. I took a risk, and I was not disappointed. This is a strong, well designed collar. And it's definitely a pink, not purple. The "design" is stitched, not printed, so the collar stays looking fresh longer. I bought this one collar that was green with cool sea stars on it, and the collar faded to white after just a few weeks. Another collar I had bought from Petco that was just a normal looking grey collar lasted awhile, but began to shed, so I soon replaced.. But I've had this collar for months now, and it still looks brand new.

Great collar, it fits as expect and can also adjust for various lengths. It's made of very durable threading that doesn't chafe as much as the other products out there. My dog use to scratch on it when he first wore it and it stood up to everything he threw at it. It comes with a nice metal hook for your leash and an extra small one especially made for your dog's name tag. I especially like the addition of a silicon tag to muffle jingles if you have more than one tag attached by getting in between the metals clashing. That was something extra rufflwear added that I thought was pretty cool.

It deserve 5 stars but it's too expensive - therefore only 4 stars. Material is much thinner than I expected but it looks very sturdy. It will be good in hot humid summers - the less material is on the doggy, the better for him. "Ring" to hook up leash is ready sturdy. I really do like the extra ring/loop to hook up an ID tag. (I'm wondering why this is pretty much the only company making collar with extra ring for an ID tag). Buckle/Clasp seems to be better/higher quality than the on from other (cheaper) collars. It looks great - Ruffwear does make great stuff! We had the "All day adventure harness  Ruffwear Front Range No-Pull Dog Harness with Front Clip, Blue Dusk (2017), Medium . The best harness so far but it's just too much material for hot humid summers.Update 06/2020: it's still my favorite collar! Money well spent- it's worth it

This product arrived quickly and was very well packaged.I had been struggling to find a collar to fit my Bichon Frisé that was the correct size and shape and after numerous purchases and returns I came across this brand. This was the first collar I had found that would fit my boys neck and was not super skinny! Because he has a very slim neck all other collars I had purchased or found to fit were much too thin.This collar is absolutely perfect in every way. The material is thin and very comfortable but it is also extremely durable. The collar is a beautiful deep blue colour with a lighter blue running through it creating a very simple but effective design, please note however the collar does differ slightly in colour to the stock photo.The lead loop is metal making it very secure and adds a touch of luxury. I love the name tag attachment and the anti jingle disc works a treat! My boy has been wearing this collar for many months now and we have had no problems at all. This is most definitely the perfect collar for him.Overall I am exceptionally pleased with this product and I would most highly recommend it.

I got this collar for my Parson Russell Terrier who is on the tall side for the breed, and it fits him nicely. It is relatively wide which makes it comfy to wear for the dog, and very easy to put on. Can take it off with one hand just as easily which I like as I tend to only put it on for walks. It is also made from reasonably sturdy material, as my dog insisted on using it as tug toy first thing when it arrived. Very happy with it, would buy again.

This is really well made and really easy to use. I have the lead as well and the two combined are so easy to use. My dogs love to drop and roll so the collar comes in contact with the ground a lot- it’s extremely durable

The thickness of the collar is different to our previous one but it stills is good value. My main criticism is the length of time from order to delivery - normally a few days but this was a few weeks but worth waiting for.

My 11 week old sprocker spaniel looks so smart in her new collar [small size, she is 10inch neck so has room to grow]. We love it. The snap fastening makes it easy to get on as she gets used to wearing a collar, the colours are great, finish is great quality, the little tag silencer is also a win because the noise troubles her. Very pleased, would definitely recommend. Thank you x
