Mercers Furniture Corona Tall Large 5 tier Bookcase

I've had these types of furniture before and know I can rely on the quality. They look good and go together well. You need to put them together properly and square and they are robust. This one was to go on a half landing just for decor to carry a few books and decorative items. I have a bigger one which is full of books and very strong I do intend to buy another one to match this new one, also for the half landing.There were no instructions with it. I looked them up online and printed them off, but some fittings were different anyway. As I'd done them before, I was able to sort it.

I love this bookcase ,I bought 2 of the 3 shelf ones and then decided to add the 5 shelf ,very good quality it took me a while to put together but it wasn't difficult just that I am a 5 feet 2 woman and the bookcase is quite tall and heavy .it's very sturdy I will be buying another .

Bought two of these shelf units, which arrived quicker than advertised. The instructions are completely pictoral, but they are quite adequate if studied first, with all of the fittings identified individually with letters. The actual construction was straightforeward but the suggested time taken of one hour was actually more like three for the first one and two for the second. The end result is two quite acceptable units which I am using for storage and display.

When we first opened it, it looked pretty flimsy and we didn't think much of it but once we started putting it together it started to look more expensive and was ridiculously easy to build. Just make sure you have a screwdriver! That's all you'll need. We also bought a drill to drill some holes in the back to put our cables through for the ps4. Once it was done it looked amazing, and we have got loads of compliments off friends. You don't have to put the black bolt/pins on either as the holes are so tiny you barely see them so you can leave it as a plain pine bookcase. It looks so expensive and over a week later it still has that lovely wood smell on it. Really impressed and the shelves are that deep that we can fit two layers of books/dvd and games on it with room to spare on top for lots extra. Would highly recommend if you have no experience with flat pack furniture!

This was our 5th build and two of us, together, have got it down to 75mins from start to finish. We still made the odd mistake but at least you realise what you've done quite quickly! These look superb when finished and in place, a wax with proper beeswax and they really look the part.Our best time saver tip is the back boards, lay them all on the back of the bookcase (and now is the time to draw a pencil line on the backboards so it runs across the middle of the centre shelf so you can add panel pins to support the back and stop your books making the back bow out.) 1, Slide the plastic insert down the first panel and once in, tape it to it, with masking tape 2, then slide the next backboard down the insert that is already taped to the first backboard, and now use the masking tape to hold that in place. 3, slide the 2nd plastic insert down the backboard and hold with masking tape. 4, take the final backboard and slide it down the plastic insert and tape it with masking tape. This will mean you can now move the backboards as a whole and adjust the spacing to the sides of the bookcase! It took us 3 bookcases to learn this trick, but the hardest part is now a doddle!

Good quality delivery is as important an aspect as a good quality product. I don't know about you, but delivery has been getting more and more unpredictable.I have still to assemble this beast of a book case, but the delivery was excellent - I had to cancel an earlier order from a different company as the delivery agent they used just couldn't find my abode - I live on a main street in a main town in the UK!Well done Mercers for using a decent delivery service!

Do not buy this. Horrible quality, horrible assembly instructions. Don’t believe in any positive review.
