Plastic Large Parrot Eggs for Macaw & Cockatoo. 2 Dummy Solid Non-Toxic Fake Decoy Faux Mock Eggs 1-7/8" x 1-1/2" (4.8 x 3.8cm)

I have an Umbrella Cockatoo that lays eggs every season now. She is 25 years old. She has only laid two total at one time within a day or so. I purchased these to keep her from laying at all. She was getting nesty lately so I ordered the ones for a Cockatoo. I got them the next day. I put one in her cage hoping she wouldn’t lay. But the very next morning there was another egg. I guess I was too late putting it in her cage.The great thing about these though is you don’t have to worry about them breaking or rotting. My bird has dropped them on the floor trying to move them and broke them. And she also pecks them sometimes and breaks them. So with these eggs I don’t have to worry about either of those possibilities.The only thing is the ones labeled for Cockatoos are a lot bigger than the eggs she lays. I almost got the smaller ones with a picture of a Goffin but went with what was labeled. But my bird is a smaller Umbrella Cockatoo. Now I wish I would have got the smaller size. But I guess as long as she doesn’t seem to know the difference it won’t matter. I haven’t noticed yet if she has noticed the difference or not. They’ve only been in there for two days. Time will tell if these are going to help.Update: Well it looks like it may not be working for me. She laid another egg two days later. I will email the company and get their advice.

... for Blue & Gold Macaw. She became a chronic egg layer over time and the Shell's were getting softer so starter finding them in cage tray. Now I give her one or two of these to sit on for 28 day incubation period and et voila - no new eggs. Only complaint is they're hard to clean if they get pooped on. Bothers me more than the parrot!

My cockatoo laid 5 more eggs from the end of November to January 8th. I was getting desperate to try and mitigate this potential harm to her health, and leaving her eggs with her I learned earlier last year didn't really work - because after a few days she'd break them. Someone suggested dummy eggs, and I read the info on this product of which the rationale sounded logical to me. Since I've been using the product (I ordered two to begin with, but the info with the product indicated the correct # for cockatoos should be 4, so I immediately ordered 2 more. They sit on the bottom of the cage in a shallow bowl - she can't break them when she plays with them, but the idea is the presence of a full clutch of eggs is like a trigger which shuts off the egg-laying behavior. All I can say is there have been no more eggs from her since early January when I introduced the eggs in her came - about a month now, and that is wonderful news. I don't have to worry so much about calcium deficiency and prolapse potential. I'm satisfied that this product does actually work - happy customer. Kind of expensive for solid plastic/polyurethane but can't argue with success, and I can use the eggs over and over as needed, and that's the bottom line.

I rescued a 20+ year old macaw during the pandemic...and 3 years later she repaid me with the ultimate compliment: an egg, followed by another one 5 days later and a third 3 days after that. I've had birds for almost 40 years, but this was my first experience with egg laying—and its stressful!But I looked on line and found DummyEggs. They seem to be the only company out there with eggs that were the size I needed—see the picture and you tell me which is the real egg! What's equally impressive is that the company cares more about their customers and their customer's birds...and that's where DummyEggs really shines.I had questions. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.So while the company is aptly named DummyEggs (hey, they are eggs to help you and your hen get through egg laying and come out the other side) but they...and their company owner...are anything BUT Dumb!I highly recommend the product, the company, and have nothing but positive thoughts about the entire experience!

My macaw wasn't fooled. She threw both "eggs" out!......UPDATE.....I switched her eggs for the dummy eggs while cleaning her cage. She continued to sit on the dummy eggs for 2 more weeks before she gave up on them and threw them out.

Our 12 year old Macaw who we thought was a boy all of these years laid her first egg and we were completely shocked.
