Comprehensive Kit - Works as it Should
Nice kit.My hydrant was leaking through the packing (visible leak around the brass packing nut). Considering the incremental cost and the fact that the labor was about the same, I decided to purchase this kit and replace everything rather than just replace the packing (HP-10).During re-assembly, I added a touch of anti-seize to the threads at the end of the Steel Rod (HP-13-x) before attaching the new plunger (HP-5).I had a tough time removing the Hydrant Head so I also added Teflon Tape to the top of the Galvanized Steel Pipe (HP-14-x) before re-attaching the head (HP-1). To make disassembly easier, next time.

Worked great!
This is a product that will fit most any hydrant, and the price was fair. would recommend to anyone looking to repair their hydrant.

Definitely fixed my leaky hydrant!
I want to add that this kit should include the packing nut that's sold separately. This past winter the hydrant startedleaking and froze up for 2 months. Horses drink a lot of h2o...each bucketis 5 gallons...needless to say a friend had attempted to fix this for me in the fall by using this weird packing material in hopes of holding it over through winter. This material didn't work right, it cracked apart and wasn't as effective as the actual packing nut...also there's a brass rod that can get very worn out due to mechanism being hard to pull up...however this rod I had to contact the local hvac/machine shop in town and have part shipped to them (part was inexpensive but shipping was double the amount for price of part)...I try to replace the plunger, etc every fall as not having running water in barn is absolutely awful! Perhaps if I was trying out for an iron man competition it'd be some intense training, but I'm not and it wasn't fun not having water in barn for 2 months....make sure you get the packing nut, and when applicable replace the other parts not found in kit...it was also very difficult to even find the extra parts online...thus I went to local machine place...good luck! It's definitely an effective kit, just wish someone had told me about replacement packing nut to begin with.As long as you stick to same brand, these really fixed my leaky frost free Campbell hydrant! Water pressure back to normal! Loved it!
