Absolutely necessary and not in hydrant kit
This packing nut should be included in the Campbell frost free hydrant kit (also found here at Amazon)...without this your hydrant will leak, and depending on weather it'll most definitely freeze up on you. It's only a 3-4$ part, and it's not prime eligible, not sure why they don't include this in the kit...another piece is the brass extension rod (hp-15)...had to contact a hvac/machinery shop that ordered this part for me...it's quite inexpensive but the shipping was ridiculously priced...wish I'd known about these extra parts before just relying on the replacement kit (thought that's all we needed for a non-leaking properly working hydrant) so please make sure to purchase this with the kit as it's essential and no amount of packing tape/gum/or weird material is gonna work as well as this!

very delicate
this item is not rubber, I'm not sure what it is made of but it is easily crushed. Handle with care!I was unable to remove the original packing material that was crushed down by the packing nut. So I just added this on top. Because the other material was still in there, this packing was too big, sticking out of the top. I was able to easily scrape away some of this packing with a pick to where the packing nut would fit again. Screwed down the packing nut a bit and now I'm leak free!

Poor Quality parts
First one that came in was crushed flat and unusable. Packaging was in good shape so I believe it came from the seller like this. Had to return and order new one. The new one was a free replacement, and is usable but is cracked on one side. I’m not sure about the quality of parts from this supplier anymore.

Disappointed
I assumed that this included 3 pieces of packing for the price, nope just ONE. An extra $8-9 and you get the entire rebuild kit. It’s a ripoff to pay $9.79 for a single piece of graphite packing.

Worked for a little while
This product does fit and initially worked. However, less than a year later I am replacing again. It should let much longer than this. Find another source for this packing replacement if you can.
