Genteel Plus - No Prick Pain Vacuum Lancing Device for Diabetes Testing - Blood Sugar, Glucose, Ketone, and DNA Home Tests (Buff Black)

I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 20 years and suffered from numerous (5+ times daily) finger pricks. My finger tips on both hands used to be peppered with tiny prick marks and I dreaded the next blood glucose test. I discovered this product and figured that although pricey, I would be well worth the cost of entry if it alleviated the pain and stress of constant testing. The product works as advertised and provides suction when pricking, drawing blood to the surface and avoiding failed tests. Better yet - for the first time I was able to test somewhere other than my finger tips (a small and sensitive) area and using one of the supplied tips managed to consistently and successfully draw blood from my thighs allowing a recovery period for my fingers while hurting significantly less. The item is big and intimidating at first but, as the name implies, is much more gentle than a traditional lancing device. If you’re on the fence I suggest taking a leap of faith. Just make sure to branch out and test locations other than your fingertips!

What an amazing device. Even though I am a gigantic man I am a giant kitten when it comes to sticking myself for diabetes. I did not like it at all whatsoever. As a veteran, I was often in trouble with my VA Doctor for neglecting to monitor my blood glucose levels. So, I bought the Genteel and I received it this morning. I evaluated my blood and I had to stick my hand about four times. Two times for when I was trying the lancets from freestyle and the other two were from genteel lancets. Really happy about it, I did not feel any pain at all. Highly recommend five stars.

When it works, it works great but the Genteel is not durable and breaks easily. I purchased two 4 months ago and they are both useless now. The first broke quickly with the spring malfunctioning. The second lasted longer but today it fell out of my hand and hit my couch. The plunger and spring popped out and won’t stay back in. It barely fell 10 feet onto a cushion! Avoid at all costs.

This device IS quite expensive. But if you're like me and have delicate skin and a low pain threshold, it's completely worth the money. When used with the Genteel 30-36 gauge lancets, this combination truly is painless. I still wince when I click to activate the device because the sound became synonymous with pain. But that response is slowly going away now that I'm using the Genteel Plus, in combination with the Genteel lancets.Highly recommend!!!

The price is ridiculous for what you receive. It is more gentle then a traditional lancing device. Rather than a sharp prick like with a traditional lance this is more like a dull poke. I have felt no pain when using this. This is actually my husbands' and since receiving it he has been taking his blood much more often. He loves that he can take blood from pretty much anywhere. He has pretty much settle on the skin webbing between his thumb and index finger on the back of the hand. It also came with sticker that kids can personalize it with. Although, it is quite expensive I would still recommend this lancing device for all ages. I would like to make others aware that this device is rather large and young children or the elderly may have some difficulty using it.

I love that this came with the bag, stickers, and different size for depth.I have been wanting to get one of these and it’s only taken me a year to get one. I just wish I got is sooner!! My 7 year type 1 diabetic he said it’s painless, everyone in our family has tired it and wow I can’t believe how well this works and being able to test blood besides the fingers is a win.*Make sure to read the directions for proper usage. Keep the finger on the button for a couple of seconds and then release the button and then pull off of the skin. After he got that down. He even felt like a pro doing it. He was also so excited to personalize it.I only wish it came with a cover shown with the other devices.Overall the this is best purchase especially since we finger poke all the time due to low blood sugars.

I literally just received the Genteel about 15 minutes ago and I am so floored I had to write a quick review. I flinch. I have flinched for finger prick testing for 45+ years be it in a physicians office or in any context. I HATE finger prick testing... UNTIL Genteel. I'm not going to lie... I just stuck myself successfully 4 times (3 on finger(s), one on palm). Probably took 10 attempts to get the depth right between the two (finger was default blue, palm was green). I am not exaggerating at all in saying that there was NO pain whatsoever.Yes, I flinched the first couple times, and getting the button press position right is a little jockeying so I don't block the plunger but I am completely and absolutely floored. I am testing using a blood glucose strip and a ketone strip and I was able to easily pull enough blood to do both tests. Extremely highly recommend this to anyone that needs to use a lancet. CRAZY effective! I still can't believe that there was absolutely no pain.Build quality seems great, packaging seems great. Hope durability is long but even with any consumables the fact of knowing that I would not have to flinch again is easily worth the expense of the device. I have probably 5-6 other devices that I have used over the years but this is such a radically different experience that I am throwing out the other devices (save one for a backup).
