I gave this to my grandson for Christmas and he was very pleased with the quality of the edition.

Grat book

You can see how these classic works have influenced Rothfuss and Ghibli and a thousand other fantasy works.Not as easy to recommend as Rowling or Sanderson, it's not one of those series with a fast pace, a meticulous build-up to a breathtaking conclusion, carefully constructed plots with shocking-but-perfect twists, etc.But plenty of good prose, original ideas, wisdom, atypical heroes, very real characters, and important themes.Recommended for fans of Robin Hobb, Barbara Hambly, Diana Wynn Jones.

Only Tolkein writes better. Such crystal clear language which enters our hearts like a key in a lock. Ursula: You will live on in your stories forever. I miss you already.

I was looking for a collector's edition of this amazing series and was drawn to the beautiful illustrations. I love the illustrations, don't get me wrong. But the binding is low quality and stiff. The book does not spread apart to make it easy to read. The pages are printed with very little margin, so the lines are long and difficult to scan. I wish I had not purchased this.
