Standard Motor Products DIH4 Diesel Air Intake Heater

Works great in my pusher intake on my 2017 Ram 2500. I purchased the bung needed and this threaded right in.

I have stainless intake horn, I welded a bung that fits this heater into the horn. Works great. No more grid heater problems. Remote start etc all work great.

It was perfect for my application I installed the M22x1.5mm adapter as well to contain it then tug welded that to a three-quarter inch stainless nipple and used it to insert into my Detroit diesel 471 inlet air blower opening . It should work good for an inlet air heater however doesn't really say how many watts it's rated for but I calculated it somewhere around 288 Watts on 12v at around 24 Amps works great for a glow plug to start your cold two stroke diesel engines I hold my button in for about 8 to 10 seconds sometimes if it's colder I hold it longer before starting

I ordered this "Standard Motor Products DIH4 Diesel Air Intake Heater" along with the matching bung with the plan of installing them on the intake horn of my 2018 Ram 3500. When the heater was selected, the bung was recommended to purchase together. Problem is, the threads on the bung do not match the threads on the heater. Returned both items.

I’m honestly impressed . I was going to go with the BD extreme version $150. Found this gem for a fraction of the price !!! I recently did a grid heater delete and then added this to my new intake manifold on my 2015 Ram . No more constriction. And for all the ram guys , no more worries about the BOLT OF DEATH . All components are outside your horn . Nothing will be able to drop into your motorM22 threads and hooks up to stock wiring !Highly recommend for any grid heater delete or relocation projects
