Q: Is it washable in washing machine at medium temperature?

Yes it is! Baytrim is all I will use and I've used many. Keep well.

Q: I'm looking for the flat cotton type stuff that you put underneath and on top of jewelry in a jewelry gift box. Would this work?

Yes it would, but do you want to buy a bolt for a small job? I used it to reupholster 6 dining room chairs and the left over to stuff 2 square pillows.

Q: Is this a good product for reupholstering a sofa?

yes, I used it to cover new foam cushion inserts in my sofa. You may tack it down lightly with a tacky spray on just a few spots. I also turned fabric of cushion inside out and worked the new cushion into it like a pillow in pillow case. Check you tube. Good luck.
