Best Wireless Sax System under $850
I am a professional saxophonist and this Mic was perfect for my needs. I had about $500-$600 to spend on a wireless system and thought I was going to buy a Shure or Audio Technica system. I shopped around and this system was recommended to me. I was able to shotgun it with the other systems I was considering and liked the sound much more. I was even happier when I paid 2-3 hundred less than I was expecting. I have had the Mic for 3 years gigging with it constantly and it is still in great shape!Let me give you a few reasons why I love this Mic-Great sound on all my saxophones.-Belt pack free transmitter makes for really quick changes, easy setup/tear-down, and it still has a small profile as viewed from the audience-The receiver is also quite small. It fits on the bottom of my pedal board without any danger of resting on the stage.- xlr AND 1/4inch out allows me to send both a clean signal from my xlr out and run the quarter inch through an effects loop. Sound guys love this.- Never had a problem with conflicting frequencies or signal strength from small venues in urban centers to basketball arenas this system has deliveredObviously at $300 it isn't the worlds greatest wireless system. I had a couple problems but all were solved with a bit of normal learning curve.-Turning the mic off when the receiver is on causes a loud static. Luckily the mic comes with a mute switch so it hasn't been a problem-The mic clip isn't super firm and will fly off if you go absolutely nuts on stage if on the outside of the bell. Moving it to the inside of the bell allowed me to move more than a sax player ever should and the mic stays on just fine-The frequency is fixed and could have a conflict with other frequencies. In 3 years I have yet to have this problem and usually if there are that many frequencies in a venue they will be able to adjust their wireless equipment-It doesn't ship with a good case. I bought a $10 pistol case off amazon and hollowed out some of the foam and have been on many tours with no problems.Overall this mic is definitely worth the money and probably more! Though there are better systems out there there aren't any better for saxophone until you reach the $850 range. Though it doesn't have everything, it has what you need and really does sound quite good on saxophone. I would definitely recommend this over the $500 range shure/AT systems out there.

Great for sax
I've been playing with this a few months now. I'm pretty happy with the performance - good reception, low noise, great mic. It's only about double the cost of the microphone itself. . . and no cords to trip over! The mic/transmitter stores inside my alto sax bell, so it doesn't take away any room in my already cramped case. The single AAA battery lasts at least 1 month playing 6-ish hours per week; I'm nore sure how long it really lasts because I just replace the battery once a month so I don't lose sound in the middle of a song. Get one of these and, remember, each member of the band needs a different channel!

Very disappointed.
I used to own a samson Airline wireless guitar system as well as one of their older model wireless headsets. I was very fond of the unites that came out about 10 years ago because they worked well, had exceptional range, and weren't tied down with cumbersome belt packs. When I saw this new wireless headset, I was extremely excited that the design really hadn't changed much, but did look as though it had gone through some upgrades. So it was with a great deal of excitement that I opened up my new wireless headset for use in my work as a professional musician. The headset was comfortable as I remembered, and the unit connected with no issues. Aside from having to play with the squelch nob a bit to take care of some feedback, things were looking good. But when I turned off the headset, the receiver immediately started making a very loud static hiss through my pa system. I was very dismayed, and tried turning the unit on and off, checking for any other way to resolve this issue, but to no avail.I immediately checked the knowledge base online and discovered that other folks had had this exact issue, and there seemed to be mo appropriate resolve besides resetting the squelch. If that failed, most folks said it was a defect in the unit and that in most cases this could be revolved by swapping out the unit. So I gave it a shot.Let me just say at this point, that Amazon, as the retailer who handled this issue, could not have an EASIER, more seamless system for making the exchange I have ever seen, and I have worked in retail for over 10 years. Thank you, Amazon, and if you folks are reading this, I'd come work for you ANYTIME!Anyway. I received my new unit the next day, and took it out of the box to test it. I encountered the exact same issue, and though I tried several different things, the problem persisted. As a professional musician, with my reputation on the line every time I go out on stage, I do not have time for this sort of issue. If a product comes to me with an issue, I will always give the manufacturer a chance, but two strikes and you are out is what I live by.I am VERY disappointed this product did not work correctly for me, and would appeal to Samson to fix the issue. I will, unfortunately, out of necessity be purchasing a different wireless headset.

Perfect belt pack free wireless microphone system for aerobics instructors!
I teach Zumba with my wife.we used to use a Shure micphone with a mic-pack.I don't mind so much, but my wife hated the mic-pack hanging on her tight pants, bouncing around. This one is AWESOME!while the audio quality is very different from the Shure, it blends more nicely to the song outputs. Also helps that it has a Volume dial on the receiver.Aerobics Instructors, be SURE to put on the included Sweat Cap!!Else, you are literally dunking the unit into water every time you use it!!(and are basically destroying the electronics inside)Great for Zumba! Even with glasses on. :)Oh, the receiver unit does not have little rubber feet ... i just put some anti-skid pads under it so it doesn't dance away on it's own :P
