I purchased these keychains to hold the many keys I use at work. I clip them on my beltloop when not in use. The hinge mechanism has a very strong tension, not so much that someone would struggle with it, but enough so I felt confident that it would stay put and not accidentally open on its own. I take the keys off the beltloop and put them back on again at the very least 20 times a day, and the hinge mechanism is still holding strong after months of use. The metal is solid and smooth and ergonomically designed. This item is far superior to any carabiner-style keychain I have found.
