very good starter Wood turning Lathe
Lathe arrived well packed and when unpacked was very well made, easy assembly,i was turning wood within 30 mins.I really liked the fact that you could have it on the small base or add the section for large base.easy on off buttons nothing complicated,i would definitely recommend.

Overall good value Wood lathe
Excellent value wood lathe. I needed a 40” wood lathe and this did the job well.i had to replace the chisels but working in oak is tough anyway. Changing gears/pulleys takes awhile but straightforward. I would have liked a stronger tailstock as there was some flex. Overall this is a good value lathe which tackled a tough job very well and can recommend it to beginners.

Exactly what I wanted
The dimensions of the lathe mean that larger items can be turned. The price was very competitive, meaning that it was cheaper than some models which could only turn smaller pieces of wood.

Used three times and called it a day....
Assembled it and used it . Noticed the face plate was slightly out causing vibration , the tailstock is just too flimsy , used on copy lathe and a lot of flex which again caused vibration and the variable speed control became loose and fails to full speed - ie doesn't fail safe . In general the quality of the engineering doesn't appear very good . All in all I don't have trust in the machine any more so junked it and got an alternative lathe of better quality

It is what it is.
I kept mine for 3 weeks and then upgraded to something better..I needed it to quickly make some stool legs for a client....it did the job, but tbh it's not a pleasurable experience, belt change is a faff, accuracy is questionable..tool rest and clamps are awkward...but it's cheap...you get exactly what you pay for.....

poor safety mico switch on pulley
first time the pulley door was opened to change lathe speed . the lathe would not start this was due to the strike plate of the micro switch moving so the bolt on the door would not operate the switch apart from that it is fine

stop slagging this lathe off.
yes you will need better chisels for hard woods i use this daily i do a lot of oak working lamps candle sticks and bowls chair and table legs ect only thing you will need to do is once a week remove the casing ( its really easy ) use a hoover or a dust gun or a brush to remove the dust from in side witch you have to do with all lathes and your away i am loving this lath. its making me money and it will for you . some people are slagging this lathe off they need to leare to use a lathe properly 5 star lathe at a exellent price. look on youtube and you can learn from the pro s happy turning.
