I was very surprised by the price and the value (so far) of these gel replacements for my Mont Blanc. Very smooth, no skips, and at the moment, no signs of drying out.Highly recommend!

The unique feature of this refill is that it converts the ballpoint pens by MontBlanc into a rollerball. You might ask: Since Montblanc makes rollerballs, why bother? Well, every rollerball they make, as far as I know, has a cap and thus must be used two handed. With the ballpoint pens, they are twist action and thus can be opened one-handed, which is most of the time for me. I like the MontBlanc Broad ballpoint refills, but they drag on the paper, like moving your hand through honey. Rollerballs are smooth and require less drag.My standard pen is the Pilot G2 rollerballs and I have tried multiple times to retrofit a G2 refill into the MontBlanc ballpoint. The last time I made a real mess so I gave up. This refill fills the bill.Pros: Good writing quality. Much darker than the ballpoints. Smooth easy writing. My StarWalker is a one-handed rollerball now!Cons: Expensive (but not for MontBlanc), Unknown how long the refills will go, I have had only a few days but have written a lot so far); Someone else noted that they tend to leak. I have not seen this yet.

I use Mont Blanc since 2005. I am not satisfied with it's original refill. I also buy refill on [...] ,but not satisfied even it is original Mont Blanc Refill. it is not smooth,when I start to write I have to use rough trial on other paper and than i have to write final. This was horrible experience to me from Mont Blank, One time I decide to stop use this pen. No doubt Mont Blanc is a wonderful ballpoint pen. These gel refills make an excellent experience to me and replacement. The ink flows smoothly, evenly and dark. This refill are long lasting relative to other gel refills. I highly recommend these gel refills for the Mont Blanc ballpoint, it will make your ballpoint happy with this product.

I don't like the way the old ballpoint pens write, black gel ink is much darker and photocopies better for my work. These inserts work well in my Montblanc ball point pen body.

I purchased this product twice. The first time because it lasted me a couple of months before no matter what I did I could not get it to write. I thought maybe the first set because It was in the package for a year or so dried up. I don't use it much at all. The real MontBlac ink lasted me years before I had to replace it. I think it's just poor quality.

I purchased this gel refill to replace the black ballpoint ink that comes standard with the Montblanc Starwalker. It was effortless to replace. I'm typically on the computer but use the pen almost every workday to jot down a page or two of notes in a medium size journal notebook. I've been using the refill for over two months and still on the first replacement. I'm not a prolific writer, so the ink seems to suit my needs (based on some reviews I was concerned even with the little writing I do I would need to replace the refill within a month or so). The ink is a nice shade of blue, writes smoothly, and I have no issues with gaps in the ink while writing. The reason I knocked it down a star is that the ink does smear if you backtrack with your palm too quickly and don't give it time to dry (about 20 seconds). I do experience some ink splotching every so often as well at points where I'm not pausing with pen to paper, but it's not really common. I noticed it as I scanned through my notebook. I haven't tried any other ink replacements, but I wouldn't hesitate purchasing this one again when the time comes. It's just as a good, if not better, than standard gel pens on the market.5/20/2022 Update: I'm on the second refill, and this one seems to splotch and smear quite a bit more. So I'm knocking this down from 4 stars to 3. I prefer gel ink, so if someone can recommend an alternative, I'm all ears. But I'll likely purchase this again when it runs out because the original ink sucks.
