Good quality
Actually, I was surprised at the good quality that this item makes when recording new cassette tapes. And the option to also use the USP stick was a bonus. I also bought new cassette tapes, and they work fine too.

Complete garbage from top to bottom
Where to start...Feels like a badly made toy.Sound quality is...just astonishing; garbled, wavery, nearly inaudible.Microphone input doesn't work, recorded only a loud, harsh buzzing sound, made EVEN LOUDER, MORE AWFUL when attached to power cord.No cassette player at all is better than this thing.

Works at recording tapes, you just have to fidget with the cord connections and sound output.
***UPDATE! I bought an Apple Inc AUX to Lightning Port cable and turned the volume on my device wayyyy down (over halfway down) and the recording quality is significantly better. Better enough that I have actually decided NOT to return this player. It's still fuzzy, but the inherent low-quality is why I wanted to get back into cassette mixing in the first place. Overall, gets the job done.***I bought this product solely for recording music onto tapes. Cannot record off USB connection. I tried aux cord (microphone) to phone and it was so so so bad. You can barely hear any music over the absolute fuzz and screeching. I tried half a dozen other ways to fix the audio. The closest I could get was recording with my phone/speaker playing next to the built in speaker. No screeching but as expected- it sounds super far away and fuzzy.Playing regular tapes through the speaker is fine though. It's just not why I bought it.

Get it while you can
I purchased this recorder because if you are like me I have a lot of music and recordings on cassette tape. With the new cars they don't give you cassettes anymore. This player also has flash drive which is even more a plus, now I can play the music I put on flash drive. It seems that every way they can they are taking away any possibility for people to enjoy musc or recording anymore. So I say get it while you can you won't be disappointed.

CAN'T RECORD FROM USB
It's called a cassette recorder....but you CAN'T record from the USB? SOOooooo....that was the exact reason I purchased it. Needless to say.....it's getting returned. In addition....the sound quality is awful....but it's a 40$ cassette deck....so that's not surprising.

AS ADVERTIZED
Needed a "recorder" that would take an external mic. This is the only one that I could find. Great value and works fine. Looks like , and operates like my 50 year old Radio Shack recorder which just bit the dust. Only one problem - there was no instruction as to how to use the USB part of the recorder. Guess I'll figure it out one day.

Helps me remember
I am an Author. When I have thoughts about my story I record and then put them in my manuscript. Great way to tell the story. Great quality and easy to use. I love it. Wish I had done this years ago.
