Wow, wonderful to have a soothing, restorative cup of this broth after coming in from shoveling snow. Love the spices, can add noodles when you feel like it. Good stuff -- and the other Quoc Viet Foods soup bases are also excellent. I highly recommend.

Let me help you have a better experience and save you from complaining about the two gallon issue. This soup base is a powder. It is well combined. I make only one gallon at a time. I put a container on my food scale, zero the scale, weigh the powder, and then I divide the powder in half. The total weight is 300g. I use 150g and one gallon of water. It took 30 minutes to really bring the flavor together. At this point, ladle a serving or your desired amount of servings out into a separate pot leaving the rest of the phô broth to cool. In the pot with the servings that you plan to eat now, add your desired protein, vegetables and cooked rice noodles. Enjoy your meal. Once the remaining broth has cooled, portion it out in freezer safe containers and freeze. You can also place your leftover soup base powder in the freezer. One container can equal phô for weeks or months. Yes, it is salty. Add less base or use more water, skip the tamari or soy sauce. The flavor is strong enough that you could go either way. Personally, one high sodium meal is not going to hurt me. It’s very delicious.

Flavor was really good. Waaaay salty with the recommended 2 gallons of H20 though. I ended up using 3 gallons and it turned out good. It really does taste pretty much the same as the veg pho broth I get at the local restaurant. It makes a lot of soup broth so unless you're planning on feeding 10 people, you're going to end up freezing most of it for later. Other than the massive quantity it makes and way over salty (which can be fixed with xtra H20), I thought it was really tasty! I'll probably buy it again.

This is a really tasty soup base that I've made both Pho & Ramen with and had excellent results. The package states it's "vegetarian" but after reading the ingredients, my vegan daughter has no problems eating it. The only downside I see is that it's packaged as one container of powered base that yields 2 gallons. It comes with a sachet of seasoning you remove after boiling for 20 minutes and would be hard to break down into less. It's really geared towards commercial kitchens as you really don't have much of a way of cooking less than the entire 2 gallons at one time (and in one pot). As I don't even have a 2 gallon stock pot, I cook as per the instructions but only add 1 gallon of water. After it's done cooking, I freeze in 2 cup increments and when it's time to make soup, I thaw out one 2 cup container of this concentrate and add 2 cups of fresh water. That yields 4 cups of properly diluted broth suitable for cooking & tastes great.

We make this a lot and it is better than the pho in restaurants! It is easy to use and tastes great!

This broth is amazing, easily the best broth we had found for pho at home. Each container makes 4 gallons but you can easily cut that in half. We freeze the leftovers to enjoy later. Although we are eating this twice a week right now do leftovers are not an issue! Great product!

i was excited that somebody made a vegetarian instant version of pho but this tastes awful. I can't even describe the taste. It's super and salty and tastes like chemical. I poured everything down the trash after I tried to eat a bowl.

It is exactly what it is simple and delicious. You do have to make the whole batch at one time because of the spice packets but honestly when I make it, everyone in the house knows that we’re eating pho for the next few days. I’m obsessed with it. I’m even happier I found a vegetarian version of it. ❤️
