I bought this because I needed some carpet protection from family members coming into the family room from the garage and also from the back yard. Because there is so little clearance under the door, I’m not able to put a rug of any sort there. My only choice is thin plastic. In the past I threw down a plastic piece used as car floor mats from the auto department in a large store. So it was about a foot square. It had a terrible plastic smell for months. And it slid around.I saw this and worried about it smelling and how well it might stay in place in these high traffic areas.What a welcome surprise! It really had no plastic odor! I am so thrilled! It has pointy grippers that really help with the sliding issue. I have hard plastic under desk chairs and those really don’t move. They are much heavier. I could maybe use something like that but it might be too thick. For my two places I prefer this more flexible, lighter weight plastic than something like a desk chair mat. It does move around a little on the smaller piece, but not much and it looks nice, is easy to move so I can vacuum under it and it’s surprisingly hardy. Plus no smell! I really am pleased. I just wish I’d found this years ago.

So, I had been using very thin, ultra low-pile carpet runners on top of my carpet for many years. They looked okay and I just threw them in the washing machine to clean them. They had a soft foam backing that did not keep them in place very well, however and they bunched up very easily. One day, recently, I just decided that I had, had enough, and searched Amazon for something better. I found the Resilia, mosaic-design plastic runner and decided to give it a try.When I was a kid, my parents had plastic runners on the carpet. They had the kind with the clear plastic strips on each side, and the prism design in the middle. I always hated the way they looked--too much like the worst of the 60's and 70's. However, I was intrigued by the Resilia mosaic-design runners. To me, they look stylish--as stylish as plastic runners can be. I ordered the 25' runner, and found that it was very easy to cut to length with scissors.I can smell the plastic, but it is not at all a strong odor. Time will tell how easy they are to keep clean. At this point, however, if I had it to do all over again, knowing what I know now, I would still order the Resilia mosaic runner. I already feel less aggravated. 😄Update 9/2/2022: The plastic smell is gone. The runners do travel if not anchored. They need to be anchored. I cut the runner in two, and I have a recliner partially covering each runner. They stay in place much better than the low-pile runners when anchored.

I really like this product- I am a caregiver for my husband and I needed something to cover our carpet next to the bed- this works really well and does the job . This is soft enough to walk comfortably in and yet does the job.

I wanted this plastic floor runner to protect my carpet in my bedroom for the sliding glass door. I just had new carpet installed about a year ago and I kept a rug at the door to avoid tracking in dirt/wet shoes. The problem I found was most rugs/door mats are thick so I couldn’t close my blinds all the way. Bought this since it a thin material but according to reading different products some were meant for thin carpet and some for thicker carpet. I decided to get this brand since it mentioned it will stay in place with thicker/plush carpet- not true. I literally have to line it up and move it back all day Every time you step on it, it moves. Yes it will protect your carpet but you will have to fix it all day or staple it down (hesitate doing so) it also bends up so (even after soaking in warm water and putting heavy objects it it to try to keep it flat) I waited on writing a review to see if it would mold itself (nope) as we speak I have heavy objects on corners holding it down. (I have had this protector for a couple of months now) so the bottom line is I don’t think it matters what brand you buy or if you buy something cheaper vs something more spendy... they will all move/shift around and edges bend upward. You can see the ripples in 1 of the pics. If it stayed in place and edges didn’t bend up it would absolutely perfect.

Mat arrived in perfect condition, and unrolled easily to its full length of 12'. It is a little stiff, but it is almost January and was outside on the front porch...a quick hit with the blow dryer loosened up the plastic to relax. Easy fix.This was slightly longer than I needed, so I did cut a bit off the end to fit to size needed. I loved that there were lines in design that aided me in cutting size down to meet my needs without changing appearance in a negative way. It fits length to perfection now.Love the pretty design! The plastic is thick and durable....glossy for easy wipe down of any possible spills. The nodules on bottom are long enough to work well with my thick pile carpeting....doesn't budge as I walk across it.I know from experience that moving anything across this stuff is a no go, atleast not on a thick carpeting. So I wouldn't recommend unless you have a thin pile carpet without padding underneath, but that is just my experience.I would definitely recommend. The quality of product matches the price paid. I am extremely happy to have carpet protection against unruly in house shoe wearers in a high traffic area! 😁
