On Nov. 28, 2022 I ordered the GHU #HS04-2600mAh (14.8V, 38 Wh) battery to replace the one in my 4 yr. old HP Pavilion model 15 ba009dx notebook, which was down to holding charge for only an hour. Amazon delivered it on Nov. 30, 2022.First, I prepped the HP notebook for the battery swap by closing all open apps, and then running ‘Crap Cleaner’ to remove junk & cookies, etc. I then put it into ‘Airplane Mode’ to hopefully make the re-boot go smoother once I’d put the new battery into it. With this done, I turned OFF the HP notebook, and got ready to swap the batteries.The new GHU battery case was stamped with “Model: BC04”. It also had a white sticker on it reading “JC20220223TN00389”, which was slightly different than the sticker that was currently being seen in the Amazon product photos for the battery.The removal of the worn out battery and replacement with the new battery was quick and easy. While the battery compartment was open, I used some 99.99% isopropyl alcohol (‘electronics grade’) and a Q-tip to clean out old dust, but most importantly I carefully cleaned the copper electrical contacts on my notebook AND on the new GHU battery.When I pressed the Start button on my notebook, nothing happened, so I re-checked to make sure I’d installed the battery correctly. It was fine, so I then suspected the battery may have arrived with no pre-charge. I plugged my usual AC/DC charger into the notebook and it now started up, confirming that the battery indeed had no charge when I received it.After the re-boot was completed (in just a few minutes), I turned OFF the Airplane Mode, and it took the charger about 2 hours to bring it completely up to full 100% charge. I then unplugged the charger and just let the notebook keep running (screen set to full brightness), with a blank Microsoft Word page displayed. I knew the constant display of a full-screen white page would draw a lot of battery power, putting the new battery to the test.The notebook ran over 4 hours from this initial 2-hour full charge, which (to me) is an excellent performance, --considering the fact I had the screen set to 100% brightness while displaying a full-screen white page the entire time.Instructions I’ve seen enclosed with other laptop batteries that I’ve received from other manufacturers in the past have suggested it is best to run a new laptop battery down to nearly 0% charge, then charge it back up to 100% again, then down to 0% again, and finally back up to 100%. This initial “deep cycling” in the very beginning of a laptop battery’s life is believed to permanently improve its ability to ‘take’ a charge, and to ‘hold’ a charge.TWO MONTH FOLLOW UP (JAN. 22, 2023). The battery is still providing my HP Pavilion notebook with at least 4 hours of run time when I do my little ‘white screen’ test that I mentioned above. I am very pleased with my $27 investment.NOTE: I’ve read some comments from persons who say the newly-installed battery becomes dead overnight, when not connected to the laptop’s charger. Those persons should be sure their laptop is not still running background apps or software, when they close the lid to their laptop. The screen can look dark, but if the closed laptop stays warm and you can hear its little fan still running, there will be a steady ‘phantom’ power draw. Use free Crap Cleaner (or similar freeware) to turn off the ‘phantoms’ before closing your laptop lid. Turn off any wireless mouse overnight too.

As of right now everything is going real good. Old battery would only last around 40 minutes. Put in this new battery and charged it up and so far I am getting around 3 hours plus. Hopefully this will last.

UPDATE: I was contacted by the seller and they sent me a new battery and charger for my laptop and everything seems to be working fine. I have followed the instructions to a T with letting it charge then letting it drain once so for but I need to drain it one more time. I am very impressed with the customer service and quality products they have provided me. I highly recommend not only the products but also the seller. Thank you so muchI bought this battery because the one in my laptop stopped charging, it worked great and fit perfectly until today. Now I don't use my laptop a lot and I don't keep it plugged in all the time. Today my laptop would not stay on for more than 2 minutes. So I put my old battery back in and it stayed on. I even was able to keep it in without any battery in it. But when I put this battery back in to test it. It did the same thing just died after 2 minutes with the charger plugged in and without it plugged in. I am very disappointed. And there us no point in returning it because I will not get any refund because it is a battery. I am very sorry it didn't work I enjoyed the freedom of no plug for a month.

I have only used the new GHU battery maybe two days. I have not as yet went through the cycle of charge/discharge that they recommend. So, I cannot make a technical assessment of the battery life yet. But, what I can say is that the Packaging was top notch. The Build was exact/impressive and Fit of the battery was perfect. But I did charge it for the recommended 12 hours. Then, I did some word processing, MP3 audio taging and some Flac to MP3 Conversions from around 7:30 to 10:30+. The battery was still above 50% when I stopped at 10:30. That's pretty good performance. In fact, I have been on battery for almost 2 hours writing Amazon reviews and browsing, and right now the battery shows 73%. I happy with that. GHU appears to sell a very "Professional" product; just as they state in their advertising..

I chose, and bought, this battery to replace a dead battery that I had purchased here, on Amazon. Unfortunately, this one does not hold a charge as well as expected. The battery drains its power much to quickly, and that, right out of the box. That drop in power doubles with any streaming of audio/video (from 100% to 19% in 35 mins). Given that it was a moderately priced battery, I am disappointed with its performance.
