Dexter Outdoors SOFGRIP Fillet Knives

I know that this is supposed to be an outdoor knife but I used it exclusively in the kitchen. It will cut through anything. Want to cut a big artichoke in half, this knife does it easily. Want to cut up a raw rib roast, this is the knife to use. Made in the USA, this great knife cuts thin slices of tomatoes, knarly French bread or the heads off fish. Best of all, it handles the dishwasher with ease.

This knife is well made. The serrations make short work of heads and tails. The handle feels good too. Made in the USA. Very good value in my opinion.

I wish you could find me the serrated Dexter, 6 inch with the same exact handle and blade!I have one and have used it for my professional culinary work for over 14 years. It would still be good if someone hadn’t tried sharpening a serrated knive. This 8” is AWESOME. Just a tad 2” to long for comfortable slicing of your everyday produce, meats etc. the 8” will be a bit more challenging and BECAREFUL ! It is one sharp, professionally adequate for outdoor filleting, probably even hunting and cleaning a deer on the spot!

Great knife, works on meet as well as on tomatoes. It became one of my first go-to knives. After several months of use, I am so satisfied that I am buying two more - one spare one for my son.

Would be 5 stars if it included or had option for a blade cover. But knife itself is great. Sharp and sturdy. blade is heavy enough for tougher cutting jobs (not cutting bricks or anything) but cutting up chickens, splitting breast bone, etc. Use for trimming brisket also, but found I like the narrow blade model for that better. USA Made, and can't go wrong w/ a brand of knife called 'Dexter'

Definitely recommend a knife sheath with this very sharp, “Freddie Krueger” knife. Have used this particular Dexter knife for many years in restaurant business, always with a warning to staff to be extremely careful. So why use such a sharp knife you might ask. Because the serrated edge slices lemons and limes like nobody’s business and continues to do so without sharpening.
