These niacin capsules seem like a quality product, but unfortunately I couldn’t tolerate the full dose—they gave me a pretty intense flushing and itching reaction. I’ve read that’s common with higher doses, so they’re probably great for those who can handle it or if taken in smaller amounts. Just something to be aware of if you’re sensitive to niacin.

Great value and they work as well as a more expensive brand.My doctor said to take ONE REGULAR STRENGTH aspirin BEFORE taking FIVE 100 MG niacin to diminish Flushing. (did the niacin regiment before along with prescription cholesterol-lowering medicine and my cholesterol went down like 20 points in a few months) . In researching niacin there were suggestions that you should only do this once a day taking whatever dose all at once as it could be hard on the liver..It is easier to get 100 mg of niacin and take in appropriate increments as opposed to getting a 500 mg pill.It helps to have a little something in your stomach before taking. When taking the niacin I sometimes take it over the course of about 5 minutes but only ONCE A DAY.When I first took niacin WITHOUT using ONE REGULAR STRENGTH aspirin it was like a hot flash on steroids! I am also on a blood thinner so using aspirin must be kept to a minimum.

1st time I took an entire cap & didn’t feel anything 😳 2nd time I was boiling 🥵 from the inside?!Well I bought it for the flush feeling & now I just bite them in half & that works great 👍Like taking them with my nitric oxide supplements before work outs ☺️

I tried to take niacin on and off since 2018. First brand I tried was Slo Niacin. It gave me a very mild niacin flush but it was more of a delayed release type of pill so the flush would come like 30 min after taking the pill. I love the Flush effect. I’ve been reading that no flush niacin is actually really damaging to the liver and has no benefit whatsoever. Then I could not find that brand at Walmart so I purchased a brand off the Amazon and it was 1000 mg capsule with niacin powder in it, my body could not tolerate that. I actually had a very adverse reaction that some people are describing here: chills, shaking uncontrollably, being extremely cold, stomach ache and diarrhea. At 140 lbs that was too much for my body to handle. I tried to adjust the doses but it was still very inconsistent so I stopped taking it. I bought a winco brand niacin with extended release 500 mg pills and that did absolutely nothing for me with half a pill or 1 pill or 1.5 pill. So I read reviews and decided to try Swanson @ 100 mg per pill. 1 pill did nothing. I took 2 and it was perfect, nice flush lasting for about 30 min. The flush comes pretty much right away, also the strength of the flush depends on how full you are so I take it about an hour after I’ve eaten something light. Hope this helps.

When I feel the flush I know it's working to keep my arteries and veins in good shape.

.Using Niacin as a stabilizer instead of using Prednisolone is so much better for him (he is a 5-year old Lab mix).He has been treated 6-months and now comes to me for his morning and night meds. The wide white ring around his eyes are very light now, and he looks so much better with an improved loveability. (new word) YEAH. Too bad I had to drive into Dallas every other week for about six months for a specialist Vet. All the other Vets here in Tyler that I had seen to find a cause had not seen the way the Thyroid changed his eyes. AMAZING My Vet here didn't understand why I wanted blood tests run on everything. I had the Dallas Vet call him to verify the problem.

The flush everyone seems to be so enamored of is merely a histamine release which is caused by the niacin. It doesn't mean it is working (as opposed to not working) or works any better than the form which does not cause this release.

Great quality! when i take it on an empty stomach, i get flushed. I become hot, there's a tingling sensation all over. So i know it's working for sure. Even though I'm playing the longterm game with it.
