"Supreme Mover" versus "Pro Mover"
I had no idea finding an old-fashioned moving blanket would be so hard. I went to u-haul, then to a local moving company and then looked on-line. Everyone seemed to carry only non-washable blankets made from a "non-woven fabric" which looked to be the same "fabric" that cheap reusable grocery bag are made from. They were also pretty thin. In my mind, Their only redeeming qualities were that they were nice and lightweight. So, not giving up so easily, I went to Amazon and found this one--the "Supreme Mover." It turned out to be a washable, very thick, very well-made moving blanket featuring quality stitching and a real woven cotton-poly fabric for the body and binding. That said, it is also astonishingly heavy, and the fabric on both sides is pretty harsh feeling.I decided it was over-kill for my uses and exchanged it for the same company's "Pro Mover" instead. I like the Pro Mover much better! Like the "supreme mover" the "pro mover" is also made of a washable, real cotton-poly woven fabric, but the pro mover's fabric is significantly softer. ( Don't get me wrong, it's not like it's made of velvet! but it it's definitely softer than the supreme mover.) It is also a pound lighter which was a relief. That said, the pro mover still seems plenty durable and plenty thick!Perhaps commercial movers would prefer the supreme mover, but for the consumer who just wants something resembling an old-fashioned moving blanket as closely as possible to protect car interiors from dogs, gardening supplies, and the occasional trip to the dump, then I think US Cargo's "Pro-mover" blanket is a pretty great choice.I never did find anyone who offered the all-cotton blankets of the past, but the two blankets I've seen from us cargo come close enough!

Heavier than some other moving blankets
Bought them to put over a truck (and under a waterproof cover) during hail storms in College Station. They are heavier than some blankets. At this time, my son put them on his truck, but then it didn't hail. I will update after the next big spring storm.

Sound dampening blankets: Slight smell .. washed a couple of times, now they’re great.
There was a slight smell to them, which is hard to describe, but not too pungent. I washed them a couple of times each, with vinegar, and now it’s almost undetectable even if you actively sniff them up close. The only small issue was that a few edges near the stitching frayed a bit during washing, but the stitching held things together, so I just trimmed the handful of stray threads with scissors and now I’m good to go.I bought a grommet kit here on Amazon, and placed grommets on one edge so I can hang them on eye hooks (I’m using them for sound dampening, and they are doing a great job at it).For their purpose in video podcasting, they are very flexible. One side is very dark grey (‘black’) and the other side is very very light (‘nearly white’ but more of an extremely light grey of that matters). So if you need to ‘bounce’ light, you can get a decent amount of light bounced from the lighter side, and if you don’t want them reflecting in your subject’s eyeglasses, you can flip them to the dark side. Mind you that the light side isn’t anything near as bright as a reflector sheet or a polystyrene sheet; but you’ll get a little light bouncing back from it if you need. For sound dampening the blankets are noticeably improving my situation. I have a room that’s “cut in half with a wall of these blankets. I can turn on a little TV on one side, and then when I slip through the blankets, the noise is WAY less strong on the far side of them. So sound penetration/transmission is decreased substantially. The surface is padded with quirked zigzag patterns which means the front surface is uneven, and you can tell that this is causing sound reflection to substantially decrease as well.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Moving Blankets
These are serious, heavy-duty moving blankets...the kind that Arnold Schwarzenegger would use. Heavy, thick, well-padded, and well-stitched. Nothing cheap about these unlike the flimsy and disposable ones you see here, in a big box store, at Har*** Fre**** or at the UH*** store. Used these to move a family member into a new apartment last week. No dings or scratches on the furniture, even with other items stacked on/against them. No need to wash them yet, but it's obvious they'll stand up to multiple cleanings if needed. Yes, they're made in China, but excellent quality and production control.

Quiets Ladder Rattle inside a SUV
My job requires a ladder and other various metals that rattle while driving in an SUV. (I hate trucks)I needed something to quiet those ladders. This four pack of moving blankets was perfect. I used the first three to line my suv flooring (Also protects seat backs). Then I add my gear and use the final blanket to cover it all.Perfect, rattle noise from a Gorilla ladder gone.

Very heavy & good coverage
I bought these heavy blankets to cover our SUV due to two hail storms that damaged it and the long drawn out process of working with insurance and a body shop to get it repaired both times. I used these blankets twice this summer (2024) and they are worth it. You will need to open your vehicle doors and tuck some of the blanket inside because some thunderstorms/rainstorms have quite a bit of wind and may blow off your vehicle during the storm. Once they get soaked, they don't move off your vehicle.
