Hunter Sprinkler XC400 X-Core 4-Station Outdoor Irrigation Controller, Small

The unit arrived several days ahead of schedule. It was relatively easy to install since I was replacing another Hunter controller which, after 17 years, finally gave up the ghost. Being familiar with the Hunter system I was able to program the unit quickly and had it up and running in no time. This, combined with the quick delivery, got my irrigation system running about four or five days ahead of schedule. Overall I'm very pleased with the transaction.

After 18 years of faithful service my old Hunter Pro-C quit displaying the numbers I needed to see to set runtimes. After looking at another Pro-C I became discouraged with the $200+ price tag so I selected this cheaper model for my home's sprinkler system.It arrived in two days and it took me about an hour to install it. It would have taken less time but I had to drill new mounting holes in the masonry --this controller is smaller than the Pro-C-- plus I had to extend the wires from the valves to reach the terminals.Ran the little test routine and everything seems to work fine. Time will tell. So far, so good.

Purchase this to replace an old one like 17 years old took pictures of the old one put the new one in its place hooked the wires up to it set everything to go easy. Peezy works great.Highly recommendI know nothing about sprinkler systems before I hook this up and if I could do it, anybody could do it

Had an X-Core before that lasted years. Easy to R&R and operates the same - very easy.

Just replaced our broken one. This product has been great and easy to use.

My old controller, same model, lasted 16 years in the desert. The new was an easy replacement, and it works great. I’m using only one watering station. Thinking of hooking up one of the other three with my 24 Volts backyard lights. Lighting timer is dead so for now I operate lights manually. I can put that station, with my LEDs on it, on a separate program (start time), and set to run say 4 hrs.UPDATE: Checked the transformer size, my lights must be less than 13 Watts total per station.

Really easy to setup. Just a dial and some quick settings. Only confusing thing is the start times (I advise just setting 1 time) as they are numbered the same as the # of zones, but actually the unit always runs zones 1, 2, 3, 4 regardless in that order. Start times are for running multiple times per day. Always based on the set run times. The Solar Sync module controller is built in so you can just add the sensor, connect 2 wires, and have a smart meter. I had to go to their website to set everything up as the instructions are lacking, but overall it is super simple and an easy upgrade.

I bought this as a replacement for the one burned out due to a power surge. Easy to install and exactly as my old one. Took 15 minutes to install and works great.
