So your koi fish are flashing! here is what to do!
This product and all microbe lift products are outstanding and should help you get rid of parasites or the causes of koi flashing in your pond.If your koi have lice then you will see it gone in few days after starting this treatment, however if they have anchor worms then it will take longer (about 1-2 weeks to see a difference) but regardless if it is lice or anchor worms you need to apply the treatment fully for 3 weeks as follows:1. start by water change: change as much as you can of your pond water, I would do 50% water change before treatment or if you can do more up to 90% it will be better, this will help you decrease the amount of water borne pathogens in your pond and make the treatment more effective. This treatment calls for 20% water change at least but the more the better, of course if you cannot add aged water then make sure to add a water conditioner such asEcological Laboratories Pond Dechlorinator Plus Gallon2. Apply this product for lice or anchor worms , be sure to follow the exact recommended amount by the manufacturer (1 oz per 300 gallons) , you need obviously to know how much water does your pond hold, there are many pond volume calculators online .3. Add the same amount as you did above every week for 3 weeks and before each treatment exchange water pond as per step 14. Very important to ensure that no water is being added to pond during treatment that is not accounted for (such as water to compensate for evaporation if you have your pond setup with a float valve), turn off any float valve you have so it does not dilute the treatment resulting in under dosing. For instance I found that my sprinklers system each night adds few gallons of water to my pond and that my float valve adds another 20-50 gallons of water to keep level steady (located in California so evaporation is significant). If for some reason you had to add water to your pond during treatment then you need to add more of the medications according to the amount of water you add.5. And that’s it after 3 weeks this for sure will get your fish rid of lice or anchor worms!6. Leave all filtration systems on (biological, mechanical, and UV) this treatment is not affected by nor does it affect the filtration systems, now this is so important and there are no information online, or medication label to clarify that, however I contacted the manufacturer and inquired about this and they explained that filtration does not need to be turned off (Carolyn in the pond department of microbe lift was extremely helpful, thanks!)Now if your koi fish continue to flash after finishing the 3 weeks treatment but you no longer see anchor worms or lice on the koi or in the water, then this means that you may have additional parasite affecting the koi (usually other single cell or multi-cell but microscopic parasites present), in that case add the following product to treat these microscopic parasites Microbe-Lift Parazoryne Ready To Use Concentrate Size: 16 oz. , This product is great, it makes your pond smell like an exotic herbal tea (because it is completely herbal product). To my surprise this product really works although I believe that chemical products are more superior in delivering results than herbal products! But this product changed my idea completely. you need to apply this product daily for minimum of 10 days ( I saw result from the second day). Finally learn your lesson from this prolonged and painful treatment till you got rid of the parasites and remember to quarantine any new fish or plants for few weeks before adding them to your pond (as this is certainly how you got these parasites to start with).Hope this was helpful, it certainly took lots of research, reading and inquiry to get this figured out, I hope it will help someone too as it is so stressful when there are limited and fragmented information everywhere on this topic while dealing with sick pets.

Seemed to work
There seems to be some disagreement within the reviews as to whether this product worked or not. I can only tell you that it worked for me, and how I handled the situation. First, I have a big tank -- 150 gallons, and only four new "starter" goldfish in there. My old shubunkin goldfish finally died after more than fifteen years, so we went out and got four new, small replacements. Within a few weeks, sores began appearing on a few of them, and one of the sores had a little white tail coming out of it. Anchor worms!! After doing a bit of research, I settled on this product and, after a 50% water change, used it as directed, once a week, with a 20% water change in between. We seemed to have two batches of worms, the first worms, and then the hatchlings from them. I ended up catching the fish in nets and removing the individual anchor worms from them with tweezers. One of the worms, which was very near my fish's eye, I did not pull out, hoping the Microbe-Lift would kill it. It eventually turned black and fell out on its own, whether because it died after reproducing, or because the Microbe-Lift killed it, I do not know. A week or so later, when it seemed all the worms were gone and I was done with the Microbe-Lift treatments, seven or eight more worms appeared and attached themselves to the fish. At this point, I did NOT do a 20% water change, but just added a FOURTH dose of Microbe-Lift, 125% of what they recommended (a tablespoon and a quarter for my tank), and then caught the fish one-by-one and got the worms, and we've had no more problems. I will say that catching the fish and doing this is traumatic for both the fish and me, but they seem to forget about it after a couple of days, thank God. But I'm certain that doing this along with the Microbe-Lift is what cleared the tank. I doubt that doing just one or the other would have worked and I can not determine if Microbe-Lift is effective against the adults. According to Wikipedia, the active ingredient, cyromazine, "is a triazine insect growth regulator used as an insecticide. It is a cyclopropyl derivative of melamine. Cyromazine works by affecting the nervous system of the immature larval stages of certain insects." So that would indicate to me that getting the adults off your fish is up to you. Good luck.

Anchor worm failure
Used as directed for anchor worms. 1200 us gallon pond. Week 1, they vanished. Treatment 2, and they're back within another day. Did not work. Spreading like crazy. Treatment on Wednesdays. Today is the Sunday after treatment #2, and I did a double dose. We'll see if it works to get rid of them. If not, a totally different treatment has been ordered. I'm not really holding out hope for this one, since they have spread rapidly in the way anchor worms life cycle works.

This product works well, but you have to have ...
This product works well, but you have to have patience. This does not kill the worms themselves. It only kills the larva and the eggs, so be sure to treat multiple times. It indicates 4 weeks on the instructions but you must use it for 4-6 weeks for it to fully get rid of the worms.
