Staedtler Mars Technico Pencil (2Mm),Black

Yes its expensive, and yes there are good cheaper options available. But the feel of this is classic. It feels good to just hold it. It is slim but feels solid. And the eraser given is black in colour! I've never seen a black eraser before. Both the pencil and eraser work perfectly well.PS: also realized that it doesn't waste leads when they shorten like other pencils since it has clutch in the front that holds the lead even when it has shortened.

This is a special edition, a black version of the classic and timeless 2mm clutch pencil by Staedtler. Has a lead indicator as well but that is fairly pointless unless you have a lot of them with differing leads. A bit pricey but worth the premium as this is a fairly indestructible product and a classic.

I had one of these pencils in college for my Engineering class, but my lead was a little darker than the one that came with this pencil. I like these are great writing tools for any college class because they don't break, and they are very sturdy. You just change out your lead, just twist the barrel for the lead. I would highly recommend this mechanical pencil

So far I’ve never been disappointed with a staedtler product and this lead holder is amazing. It feels good, it has nice weight and it holds the lead securely while you write. The fact that the lead is 2mm thick gives you that same feeling as when you write with wooden pencils but you don’t have to sharpen and you don’t lose real estate as you use it up. I like that they not only sell the different types of graphite for it but you also have a marker ring band on the holder itself so you can mark what type of graphite you’re using in case you use different ones and need reminding.

This is a joy to draw and sketch with. Build in sharepener works well too. Great look and feel. This thing lives on my desk instead of my drawer because I grab for it all the time.
