Spectacular knife for the price.
I have to say that I was a little skeptical at first when buying this knife because of some of the reviews. However I've found from my personal experience with the knife that all of the bad reviews were false. The safety lock works great, I don't know how many times I've dropped it while locked and it didn't spring open. The spring is quick and holds up well to repeated use. The blade isn't the best I've ever owned but if well maintained and sharpened properly it works great. I bought this knife for daily use on a farm and haven't regretted it one bit. It has held up amazingly to my abuse of it and I would not hesitate to buy it again. I also bought the same knife for 2 of my friends and they have had no problems with their knives either.

Finally found a knife I like
I'm pretty picky about knives and it took me a while to find one I wanted to stick with.I've been looking for one that I can consistently carry on me, wasn't too big, wasn't too small, had assisted opening, good edge retention, and was in a style/color I didn't mind. Tanto end was a plus.I finally found this Smith and Wesson beauty and it's the one I stuck with.2 weeks from now I'll have been carrying this knife daily for a year. The paint job is definitely showing signs of wear, but I'm not going to take a star off for that. It looks like a knife that has seen some use. Being it has, this is to be expected. The unit as a whole still looks great. It still locks properly. The assist works fine. It's just a really good and reliable knife.I hate that it has "black ops" in the name because some will automatically be deterred from this by virtue of it being "tacticool" gear. That's not the case. This knife is the real deal. This was the 5th or 6th knife I bought trying to find a good everyday carry. And it was the last one I bought because it fits my needs and it just plain works.10/10 would buy again.*Authentic Greg Review*Thanks for reading this review. All of my reviews are 100% "Greg honest". I cannot be bought.Amazon's review system is going downhill. Paid review groups ravage this site and the removal of comment responses has made things worse.I strongly believe in uncompromised reviews where the goal is protecting the buyer and informing the masses.Let's look out for each other!

Durable and fairly sharp, but not as sharp as I had imagined it would be.
Durable and fairly sharp, but not as sharp as I had imagined it would be, hence 4/5. I'd buy it again.

great knife
I really like this knife - the only reason I marked it down on the lock feature from 5 to 4 is that in opening it can be surprising sometimes. I have an old buck knife which was perfect in terms of blade release, but it then failed because the stupid release switch fell off the knife. anyway, this SW knife caused me to drop it when released one time, so I'm just saying it's not the best release mechanism out there. I do like the knife and use it routinely now, with no further drops, but it's not the most friendly knife I've owned, you really have to keep a strong hand on it when opening. I buy a lot of knives because I use a knife a lot, so I have a lot to compare to - this knife is... ok, not perfect.

One of the best knives I've ever had
This knife is high quality. Heavy and durable, and the knife comes sharp, so be careful! Have had it for almost 2 years now and has held up to a lot of wear and tear.

One of the nicest knives I ever bought!
The media could not be loaded. I have used this knife 3 months now and I like everything about this knife. I like the Magic switch. The Double locking mechanism. Even the pocket clip is nice and tight / don't catch on stuff. It's just a good knife all around.

S&W Black Ops
Had the original knife which used a different quick opening mechanism, which I prefer. However this is still very good quality and we will see how the opening action holds up to regular use.
