Pleasantly Surprised!
I've been very pleasantly surprised by Jinhao pens. I'm a recent fountain pen enthusiast and am still experimenting with different nib sizes and pen makes. I can't afford anything above $20, so I spend most of my money on the lower end of the fountain pen spectrum. Jinhao pens have been a solid buy in this price range. I've tested two out of the six pens in this set and both of them write well. Smooth with a moderate ink flow. I prefer pens that aren't too "wet," so this works well for me. I like the design a lot. They don't feel or look tacky. That said, they're less than $2 each, so I don't expect them to last too long. Till they do, I suspect I'm going to enjoy them.

They're OK. Good for learning.
The ones that work, work pretty well. 4 of mine came with F nibs, have a breather hole and seem to work OK. 2 of mine came with EF nibs which have no breather hole and seems to write incredibly dry and scratchy. I managed to completely destroy the feed in one of them while I was figuring out how they work. Also the converter will not stay seated in that same pen (but hey, now I destroyed the feed and stuff so it's not as big of a deal). The ones that work write pretty well. Smoother than the Pilot Varsity and more on par with the Pilot Metropolitan.PROS: Inexpensive. Can work well. Inexpensive.CONS: Not the best quality. Inconsistent (different nibs).

A vary nice set
This is a very nice set of Jinhao 992 pens in 6 different colors. They are easy to fill, and write very smoothly. You can't go wrong with these pens. They remind me of the Sailor Compass 1911.

Nibs, nibs, nibs.
Small nib+feed, same exact size as in 911. A replica of Sailor 1911, minus the nib+feed details. And what a replica it is. The form factor makes this pen the second most comfortable pen to hold when posted. Jinhao wants this to be a $2 pen that writes well, and write well it does. For a F nib, it writes as a Pilot M, with the same smoothness. The plastic body and all interrelated components are cheaply made, except the nib. They also provide a 6-compartment pouch to hold the pens, 100% happy. Conclusions:Performance - 92/100Quality/Longevity - 40/100For $2, I can buy a dozen. Just the nibs and converters are worth double the price of a whole pen.😍🤡❤️👍🏻😇

I like these: fun, cheap, close to a lamy safari
wanted to try some of the inexpensive Chinese fountain pens and I like these.at $2/each or so, I can load them up with ink color that matches the pen and change between my growing list of fountain pens as I see fit.cons:- the plastic is thin compared to the lamy safari, but I do not see this as a real issue as it's a $2 pen. I think it will hold up but if I drop it to the concrete sidewalk/floor, I'd inspected it for cracks.- the nibs are marked "F" yet they write like my lamy safari 'M', maybe a slightly thicker line. Again this is not an issue as I like more of a medium width and feel of the nib on paper.pros:- cost.- design; translucent colors for the body/cap.- fit and finish seem quite good.- plunger for refilling is included and works very well.- plastic used doesn't seem to stain as can be seen in the attached photo. In the photo, the nib is down, plunger on top and I have noodlers 'Fox' red ink filling half of the reservoir. Note the ink just droplets up like my lamy safari, ie it doesn't coat the unused portions. So I suspect on ink color changes the plunger/reservoir won't go black.- the feel on paper of this 'F' nib is good and very similar to my lamy safaris.btw in the photo, my lamy safari 'M' nib wrote in green (noodlers 'Bad Green Gator') lower right and this pen's 'F' wrote in red to the left of the pen and to me, this pen writes a little heavier line than the lamy 'M' medium nib.

Blue pen arrived with tip of cap broken off.
Blue pen arrived with tip of cap broken off. It still covers the pen, but now it won’t clip onto anything. I might be able to fix it with super glue, but it’s inconvenient. These are the first fountain pens I’ve ever used. Some of them write fine, but the blue one skips on the upstroke, and the grey one leaks like crazy. It takes a while for the ink to wick into the nib. I don’t know if that’s normal. They write pretty bold lines except for the red pen which writes pretty fine lines. I don’t know if that has to do with the red ink I’m using. It could be that the nibs are manufactured inconsistently. Keep in mind that they might have some defects like mine had. Also, if you are really picky about your line thickness, you might want to invest in a pen with a more carefully manufactured nib. Basically, 4 of the 6 should work fine for me, but I probably can’t salvage the other 2. Though I did get some value out of these, I would not buy them again. Just keep in mind that the quality is reflected in the price.

Awesome value, very cool pens!
I really find it hard to dislike anything about this purchase. I have several higher quality / price fountain pens (Lamy, Pilot, TWSBI) and these compare well with pens that easily cost 10x as much. I wouldn't necessarily carry them every day but they are awesome to keep inked up with colors you don't use that frequently. Basically, I purchased these to practice and just to have fun with my inks writing in notebooks and the like...I color matched the inks to the barrels.I tested the Noodler's Bernake Red, Noodler's Bernake Blue, Iroshizuku fuyu-gaki, Herbin Cacao Du Bresil and the Noodler's General of the Armies Green. With the exception of the Green, everything else was great. The green is a bit of a wet ink and looked more like an M nib but I think this is an ink issue, not a pen issue. The others did great!Match these pens with a few nice inks and you've got a really nice introduction into the world of fountain pens for less than $40.Highly recommend!
