The best welding helmet you can currently buy
The peripheral vision + crystal clear clarity this thing provides is unparalleled. Not as durable as other offerings out there, but for bench welding this thing is the best there is. I was still able to fit a 3m half mask respirator under this, despite how close the lens fits to your eyes. Really impressed with this thus far, very good sensitivity range. Big external button for grind mode, and a blinking blue light that you can see through the lense to let you know its on. Such impressive features. I could honestly not believe the level of clarity while welding, I feel like this alone has increased my tig welding skillset by allowing me to more clearly see the puddle. Do not drop or bang this thing up, it is somewhat fragile, other than that its incredible.

Worth the money!
Awesome hood! In the Boilermakers union and need a durable hood.. 1 year later it’s still holding up and I love the comfort and larger viewing area and especially like the outside grind mode button!

You only get one set of eyes!
This helmet is amazing for indoor based welding. The clarity is unreal, the actual viewing area is top notch and its so lightweight you forget you have it on. Best investment yet!

Don’t have 180° view
Love the comfort fit, the light weight, the view is crystal clear! Only downside is they say 180° view and in reality is about 90° or an average welding helmet

Not my first Optrel hood. Started using them 10 years ago and have yet to find another hood close to the clarity of Optrel. Absolutely love the warranty on them. I work mostly on heavy equipment, pile splices, and structural for major construction projects and still would not choose another.

Good vision, uncomfortable
Headband is cheap and not comfortable but the worst part is the nose piece. It saddles on your nose to support itself and for me it isn't comfortable. You need the lid perfectly straight or it will not sit right on your nose and when it is straight it almost closes your nostrils. It is very light weight and has good vision so if you can replace the headband and deal with the nose part, it would be a good helmet but I feel it is very over priced for what it ends up being. Also you need to charge it with a USB charger. It doesn't charge on arc light
