Yes. These are needle syringes. And BD best brand, buff or polish the needle so you seldom ever get one with a burr like the generic brands. Just insert in your bottle draw the fluid and then give yourself a shot. Hope this helps. Have been diabetic for 44 years would never buy another brand

Q: Does the syringe have .5 ml clearly marked?

The syringe that I have is 1.00 CC ( 1x 10^-2) which is equivalent to 10ml (10x^-3). The syringe is marked with 0,10, 20,30 ….100 markings with sub slashes between the major numbers, such as 10 to 20. The sub slashes have a major full slash at the mid point where it is easy to identify 5, 15, ….. 95. I believe that the .5 ml in the question should have been 5ml.

Q: how is the package shipped, in box or wrapped in another package?

The needles come in bundles of ten inside thick, sealed plastic packets, those sealed packets are placed inside a thin cardboard box which is then shrink-wrapped and placed inside a cardboard Amazon shipping box. Basically four layers of packaging. At least, that is how mine came. Very clean and well packaged.
