Firstly, this was very easy to set up and start using. The H2S detector itself feels of good quality and it detects very quickly. I am also able to save and log readings and view them afterwards. The battery life lasts long and I usually only have to charge it once a week when I am constantly using it. All in all, this is a very convenient and accurate H2S detector that has a long battery life with a rugged design.

Secured with buckles. Case is about palm large. Rechargeable but the usb port is a bit old to my likings - see picture. The device is build very well. And easy to use. I checking it against the boiler heating pipe and it detected gas fumes immediately. It can be attached to tools belt. I don’t have day to day use case for it but see this as good quality sensor for work/professional purposes

This H2S detector is being used for agricultural purposes.My property backs onto to a livestock farm, which is along-side miles of marshland coast-line, and the sole Farmer there stated that they always carry these Hydrogen Sulphide detectors, because you become so accustomed to permanently bad odours; that it’s not always easy to distinguish one bad odour; from a potentially deadly one.He said that the ‘rotten-egg’ smell is a bit of a giveaway, really; but when it’s another bad odour, the decomposition of manure in badly ventilated livestock barns that’s potentially causing the production of H2S; he says that this is where these detectors earn their money.I gave it for him to trial, and he instantly knew how-to set this Toptes detector with a ‘danger threshold alarm’ set at 10ppm; because any detection at this threshold gives him (according-to the U.K. Government) around fifteen-minutes to evacuate the area, otherwise the consequences could prove-to be fatal.He had his existing H2S detector with him, but said that the main issue with them, was that the batteries fail, and when they don’t even last a day; they have-to be replaced with an expensive, new H2S detector.Apparently, this Toptes didn’t quite last 7-days on a full-charge; but that it was pretty-close to that figure, and significantly better than the mud-ridden detector he was having-to use. But he also said, that sometimes it requires around five ‘full charge to completely exhausted’ cycles to get these batteries working at their best.I like to confirm that this detector was all working fine, but he said that the alarm hadn’t signalled any alerts; and he said that the only time he ever looked at it, is when he’s back inside his house to see if the device needs recharging, or not.Anyway, he’s in no-doubt that this detector does work; (as he’s still alive) plus, detectors such as this have to pass every safety directive regulation going before they can be sold, as apparently as all gas and multi-gas detectors have-to do. If it was me, I’d personally have two differing detectors as a fail-safe; but the Farmer had immediate trust in this product, for some strange reason. I wouldn’t be that trusting or have as much instantaneous faith as he had; but then I’m not a farmer, and I’ve never even seen one of these detectors before now. But he said, it’s just like the others, it’s built like a tank; and if it can tolerate water, (as were by the marshland coast) then he clearly wasn’t going to be in any way deterred from risking his health if he was in any wrong.So, this is good enough for me. Plus, the current retail price of this Toptes H2S detectors is very comparable with others, but it’s very good compared-to most that might claim a 7-day battery life; and even though I stated that there was a Toptes multi-gas product at the same price, he said, “no, I just want good battery life, as the fewer the charge-cycles, the less the battery will deteriorate”.So, it just needs-to work properly with at-least one triggering alarm, and the battery needs-to last. It looks like this Toptes Guard-633 H2S Detector does all that.
