..of a crown.
Comes housed in a 'Super jewel Box',which is dead posh. Its a glass dvd case-yeah,glass,woop,woop!,,a lovely surprise actually coz it looks great. Also, what can only be described as a 'gorgeous' linear booklet in the hinge.,fabulous quality/attention control here....why all dvd's never got booklets as standard anyway...but thats for another day..The feature comes in the form of the 'whole' gig here.,the cd you bought back in the day had some serious cuts,as here we come fully loaded with a shed more tunes,a full 82 mins. Was supposed to have had a 're-grade',,but the transfer looks the same as what was on the vhs, also, back in the day-and its frame is 4:3 and unless you have a snazzy tv you're stuck....shame really.(I can't remember if the vhs held the 'whole' gig)..This does not reflect on the audio as is top notch;3 options.,D.D 5:1 Surround/dts 5.1/Pcm Stereo.,is ntsc/region free.Has a commentary track from the director but is rubbish-I could'a done better!...very boring.(shame)The screen saver/menu screen, too,is framed at 4:3,,but don't let all this put you off as I'd still recommend this, overall I wouldn't have wanted this to 'look' like a bluray-wouldn't have been the same!...I could go on.Wazza.

Wide awake in America
For anyone who wants to witness U2 pre lemons, huge stadiums filled with banks of overhead plasma screens, McPhisto & call's to the President, this is the real deal and worth it's weight in gold. It was 1983 and 6 months earlier I had witnessed, along with less than 1000 other fans, U2 performing live in my home town of Aberdeen, Scotland in an old cinema building! I had been to loads of concerts before - but never anything like this. The passion, the commitment and the music lifted us all into a place none of us had ever been before. The gig at Red Rocks captures these feelings and emotions beautifully and indeed takes them to an even higher level. The weather, the crowd and the band all contribute to a gig that not only kicked off U2's rise to stardom; it also has to go down as one of the greatest live gigs of all time. I've seen U2 perform many many time throughout Europe in the last 25 years, but believe me, it doesn't get any better than Red Rocks!

loved it and didn't see it since
I saw this on TV at a party in my teenage year, loved it and didn't see it since. The picture quality is a little poor - (probably better than when I saw it back then), but still a good nostalgic trip.

Bloody fantastic
I hadn't seen this 'video' in more than 20 years. It is awesome. I 'made' my kids sit and watch the opening bits where the rain is belting down and the band come on and just blast everyone away. Its as fresh now as it was in the 80's. Walk Away and Sunday Bloody Sunday give me goosebumps.I never really liked U2 (and still don't really) but this is a proper gig.Read the insert about what happened before the gig and that the promoter didn't want it to go ahead and that it bucketed down in the desert state, with only half the arena filled, it turned out to be one of the best gigs ever filmed.Fantastic

From my favourite period of the bands long legacy
I lost interest in U2 after the War album but this is a great document of their early work. Nice to see the extra stuff not on the original VHS. They redeemed themselves with Achtung Baby but I still prefer the early stuff.
