Great home server case
Very good quality of construction, the case is solid and well-thought. Intended for a positive pressure cooling design, all inflow fans have a filter which will keep the machine cleaner over time. All filters are easily removed and cleaned. There is plenty of space for big motherboards and it's really easy to work with when assembling it.The pictures show the "rack mode" of this case, but it can be adapted to be used as a standard tower with handles on top and feets, and I must say, although this is personal opinion, the case is gorgeous. I really hope Silverstone follows up with this design for future cases. It comes with 3x 8cm fans for the storage section of the case (backplane-controlled) and an additional 2x 8cm to extract heat from the CPU area (intended to be connected to the motherboard). These are high-RPM fans and although I don't doubt their cooling performance, I would recommend to replace them for less noisy ones if you intend to be in the same room as this machine (I'm using Noctua and it's perfectly cool and silent). You should probably budget for an additional 3x 12cm fans for front intake if you are not going to install and AIO cooler in there. The SFF-8643 connectors on the backplane require to be reversed, so "SFF-8643 target" to "SATA host", not the other way around, if you are connecting to your storage to regular SATA controllers. The case supports three 12cm x 3 water coolers but height in the motherboard area might be tight for the latest NVIDIA 3000 and 4000 series, especially if their 12VHPWR connector goes straight away from the motherboard, I doubt it will comply with the 36mm clearance needed according to the specs.I've currently populated the case with 11x 7,200 rpm 3.5 HDD and temperatures are under 45 degrees in all drives with intense use, in a room at 25 C and completely silent while using Noctua PWM fans. The drive caddies come with a clipped blank intended to block airflow. Do not remove this blank unless you are installing an HDD in that caddy, so air is forced to go through populated areas.EDIT: I contacted Silverstone because a couple of rubber grommets were missing from my case, asking if I could purchase them separately. They just sent them to me, free of charge. I cannot give more than 5 stars, but I must say, Silverstone not only makes the best computer cases, they also have a fantastic support.
