Sharp, snappy, INCREDIBLE.
An amazing lens, I've been shooting and filming with this on an aR7III. The images are snappy, the lens focuses FAST and there's no drift during filming.

Dropped it. Still amazing
Build quality is a expected from Sigma. Dropped it on rock and held up amazing. Feels amazing in the hand. Really light for it's size but don't expect prime lens weight with this.Image quality is great. Some distortion at the edges on the widest focal length but easily fixed in Lightroom. Sharp.Fixed apeture is the real star.@ethanwong_

Excellent lens
I bought it for doc work. I need a lens that can cover me for doc work without having to change up lenses. Sure, I'd like it a little wider but 28mm works for 90% of what I do. It's the reach of 105mm that made me buy this. I'm always needing to get closer than 70mm but don't have the time to switch glass. The only downside is there's a fair bit of distortion at the wide end. Not a deal breaker for me but something to be aware of. Also being 82mm, you may have to buy some new filters. The overall image quality is excellent.

Great Lens
This is a great product. I bought this lens as universal lens for my Sony a7iv. Great quality.

Good lens but could be better.
First off, I am just an average user and not a professional photographer. Tested using the default settings with aperture priority. I've been using Sony FE 4 24-105 G lens for a while now. It is a solid and quality lens for what it can do. The one significant thing it is lacking is sharpness at some focal points. Close up shots are great. Long shots lack detail. I was hoping this Sigma would help with the sharpness as I used to own the Sigma 24-70 and that was just pure joy. Only problem was that it couldn't shoot that far out. When this came up I was hoping it would be just like the Sigma 24-70 but with the longer range, sharper and brighter. After using this for the past couple days, I have to admit that it did meet my expectations. However, by not that much. Far away shots do have more detail and definition due to this being 2.8 vs the Sony that is fixed at 4. When it came to close up or mid range shots, it did include some more detail and brightness, but not by much. The Sony 24-105 still produced almost the equivalent shots as the Sigma. In the end I would have to stick with the Sony.

The lens I wanted
I had the Sony 24-70 f/2.8 and the Sony 24-105 f/4 in my lens collection. I never could figure out which one to buy so I bought them both with a plan to sell one of them after I tried them out for a few months. But ultimately what I really wanted was the extra 35mm zoom reach AND the f/2.8 fixed aperture.I was so pleased when Sigma did combine the best features of the two lenses into a single lens. All of the reviews I read (perhaps more than 20 of them) were positive. Yes I lose a little bit at the low end which ends at 28 instead of 24, but I tested it and found out 28mm would be fine for my style of photography.I ordered the Sigma and a day later it was in my hand. It's everything the positive reviews say it is.The Sigma is on the high end pricewise but selling the other two Sony lenses and adding a bit of cash made it possible for me.I highly recommend this Sigma lens.
