Korean for K-Pop Fans is a well-organized, appealing, and (most importantly) effective introduction to the Korean language. It has all the essential components of language-teaching design, as applied to Hangul: brief history and structure of the written language, phonemes, parts of speech, phrasing, verb tenses and conjugation, substantive and descriptive structures, and linguistic adaptations (hybrid forms and borrowings). The brilliant part is the context-based design, an approach well known in language teaching for student motivation and engagement, and for enabling them to retain what they learn. The thread of K-Pop and the Korean music world is creative and compelling. Additionally, the electronic version has available sound files with corresponding scripts. The visual layout is really well done. And I like the way they've brought together components that you often need to pull together from different textbooks. It is a practical, entertaining, and productive way to begin reading and speaking in Korean! It is helping me make real progress in learning the language.

I bought this book as a gift for my teenage daughter, who has been absolutely obsessed with K-pop for years now. She loves it! I checked it out myself, and found that the book is well-organized, and the tone feels like it’s written by someone who truly understands fans. It really blends language learning with K-pop fandom well— I bet it doesn’t feel like “studying” at all. If you have a K-pop fan in your life, this book is a fantastic gift.

I've been trying to study Korean on and off for several years, having bought and seen many language instruction books. This one brings together a lot of information scattered across different types of books all in one place in a neat, logical manner. I found that lot of things "clicked" for me for the first time as I went through this book. This one's a keeper!

I received this digital book for free and will be purchasing a paper copy when I can. This is a very detailed beginers book. It first shows you the alphabet and is full of basic words. It actually explains different parts of sentences and shows how the sentence structure works. It also gives you a summary of kpop bands, companys, and culture. I read parts of the book and skimmed over most of it I really can't wait to read the rest and study the sentence structure! I have bought other books and apps trying to learn but have not found any as captivating as this one.The only other one that I found that I loved was the infinite Korean game where it taught me some basic words but then when it jumped to sentences I was lost.

This is a great starter book for fans of kpop or anyone wanting to learn Korean. It breaks it down in a simple way. And of course you can go at your own pace. The joys of books. The best part of this book is it does relate it too to kpop and and phrases and text used in kpop for the kpop fan based for the ones who love kpop like me. So it will help you to read and and understand what you are listening too. This book breaks down the alphabet, to pronouncing the words correctly and, even putting the sentences together correctly. I highly recommend this book as a great beginner book.

I loved this super cute way of learning Korean with Hallyu inside. I have been watching KDrama's since 2010 and listing to K-pop a few years after that. This is a great way to get familiarized with the language besides binge watching and singing. Right off the back you have the Alphabet and it was a great refresher for me. You do learn the sentence structure and the common words right away. What I really love is that you learn about not common words so it helps to answer that question and in it that regard it is quite thorough. This gets you talking rather quickly and understanding what you are saying as well. I love the resources to keep you learning as you practice. Remember to practice writing as well while you learn.

This is the first book that I've come across that actually breaks everything down. I've been trying to learn for almost a year and was kind of giving up because not every book or app has everything in one place and explained so simply.This book has everything! You'll learn from the ground up. It teaches letters, numbers, grammar and pronunciation, dates and time, formal and informal, and so much more.One of my favorite things is that it explains word and sentence structure. I was also struggling a little with formal and informal speaking, but with it broken down it is so much easier to understand.I highly recommend this book. It's extremely user friendly and beginner friendly!
