GREAT VALUE AFTER MARKET XL INKS FOR (EPSON) 378
“DOUBLE D” Upgraded 378XL Ink Cartridges (Replacement for Epson 378 378XL Ink Multipack), Works with Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 XP-8505 XP-8600 XP-8605 XP8000 XP8700 Printers. (6 Pack)A new set of replacement ink cartridges for Epson Expression Printers – those who use the 378 type ink.A full 6 cartridge set of XL inks. These are “after market” inks and not supplied by Epson. They work fine in Epson Expression printers although you will be bombarded with “error” messages asking whether you really want to use non Epson inks. There are rumours that Epson have issued a software update for their printers preventing the use of non Epson inks. This just needs a little care to recognise when an update appears on your screen to ignore it.It is also worth noting that the use of non Epson inks will invalidate your printer warranty however once that has expired (usually 12 months) the choice is yours. When Epson want over £100 for their XL set and this set costs £30 you can do your own sums.I guess the main question is whether these inks are as good as Epson's own. My experience shows very minor colour differences especially printing photos but for normal everyday printing they are fine and using just two sets will save you enough to buy a new printer which you can use for photos and still be ahead financially. My printer is out of it's Epson warranty so I have no fears using these inks and with Epson charging over £100 for their XL set, I do not think I will be buying original inks again. The printer still keeps asking the question … “do I really want to proceed with substitute inks ?” I say “yes” !
