Inspirational
Another lovely, warm, heartfelt story of friendship and love, mainly platonic, but a wee bit of romance too, from Libby Page.I read The Lido some years ago now and thoroughly enjoyed it, and have read her others since. This was a book filled with realistic stories of how the characters lives were, how each of them felt their troubles and worries, and thought they were alone, unable to talk about them, for fear of being judged. The intertwining of their lives, the unravelling of their secrets, their exposure to each other to be truly seen, was heartwarming.Tears and laughter, and generally a feel good read. Highly recommended.

An idyllic river world where stories are accepted and shared!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to find this spot at the end of your own road. A tranquil stretch of river where you float in water among the willows and support your friends and they support you! It’s fast paced and lively and I was intrigued from the first page.I think it would be stronger with a neurodiverse or LGBTQ+ character? Maybe you could include one in the next book?

A story of encouragement
I have read all of Libbys books. This book gives heartwarming hope when you are a new mum and when life just seems hopeless. Ways in which we can find new friends and help.

Fabulous
What a great book. Good to meet up with characters from The Lido again. I just kept reading this book. Heartwarming but gritty issues. I was a new mum over 30 years ago but I can still recall all those feelings that Kate is going through and remember how I ashamed I felt at not enjoying those early months of being a mum. As it says in the book just hang on in there and the good times will come. Also this book highlights the great work of mental health professionals and shows how community is so important. Well done Libby this is a fabulous book.

Well written
As a wild swimmer i enjoyed the subject matter. The authors description was of outdoor swimming and the feelings & emotions it instills were perfect. As a parent & now grandparent, I felt for the new mums too.

Heart warming
After reading and loving The Lido by Libby Page I couldn't wait to read the follow up, The Lifeline, where we pick up on Kate's life since her move to Somerset and becoming a mother.Feeling isolated and struggling to cope Kate finds solace in a local river swimming group where she finds a host of new friends. It is a heartwarming, feel-good book about friendship and community and I totally recommend you read both books.
