The media could not be loaded. Electrician here. I order hundreds of dollars worth of magnets a year. I am really glad this magnet was Vine item; because, I definitely wouldn't pay for it. I'm not too sure of the actual application for which this magnet should be used. I saw some disappointing videos in the other reviews. One in particular caught my attention and featured a use for which this product simply did not work. That use is to remove the magnetic tag from clothes. That makes sense, since it can be bolted from the "bottom" and the only strong magnetic force is in the center of the "bowl."In my video, one can see the magnet snatch up my unibit from my work table with ease and hold it fast. One can also see that magnet will NOT attach itself to the framing inside the work trailer. What one cannot see is the damage left inside the bowl from that single encounter with my unibit. The only use I could fathom would be to mount the magnet to the end of a pole and use to retrieve errant hardware without having to bend over. Unfortunately, I do not know how long it would last with each nut and bolt possibly chipping away at the housing. It seems a little small for a fishing magnet.For the listed price, I could get half a dozen rare-earth magnets, a bit smaller in size, and a lot stronger in force, right here on Amazon. So... Unless the reader knows something I do not know about the use of this product, I recommend looking elsewhere for one's magnetic wishes.
