Far better than I'd expected!
Perhaps not quite Shakespeare....to me writers seem to fall into 2 main groups, the unsuccessful worthy and the popular most of us read.Ken Follett may be among those rare few who straddle my classification, being both popular and entertaining and worthy of the ti,me spend reading him.I've previously dismissed Bernard Cornwell and been surprised by his Arthurian trilogy,so I'm not infallibleThere are times when popularatity doesnt outweigh quality. The Century trilogy is simply put,a good read.

a Really Great Read. Historical fiction
Simply a classic, or rather 3 classics. Historical fiction but factually accurate coverage of the period covering the First World War to, virtually, date.Classic Follett at his best and loads of pages, pushing 3000 in total.
