It's a very attractive desk clock with a large face and clear numbers. Sweep second hand is silent. Alarm works as expected.BUT: after living with it for a while, I find it is not easy to read at a glance. The problems are1. The minute hand (the big hand) is just barely longer than the hour hand but the same width. It takes one extra step of cognitive processing to distinguish them.2. The sweep second hand is heavy, black and almost exactly the length of the minute hand. So again, a quick glance is not enough to read the face because you have to make sure you did not mistake the sweep hand for the minute hand, especially if they happen to be nearby when you look.3. The alarm set hand is the exact length and color of the hour hand. While it does not move, it can be mistaken for the hour hand, especially if the two happen to be nearby.Add up these three factors and it is impossible to read the time with one saccadic eye movement. You have to stare at the clock for a beat and mentally confirm you have it right. So, handsome as the clock appears, it is not very useful. Makes you realize what has to go into designing a simple analog clock face.
