Stop searching, this is the one.
This hydration pack is superb. It is very well made, lightweight and comfortable. I didn't have any trouble with the latches on the reservoir and there are no leaks or any visible design flaws on the reservoir or the pack. I was a little intimidated by all the pieces involved with the reservoir but it actually turned out to be very easy to take apart, clean, and put back together. All features were comfortable and worked perfectly throughout my hike. I have bought several hydration packs over the last three decades and this is the first one I've found that measures up to my Camelbak Lobo. Mazama has new loyal customer in me.8/23/18 I've taken my Mazama pack out about 20 times in the past month and still have had zero problems; no leaks, design flaws/weaknesses, fraying, or breakage. The pack is so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it. I have multiple injuries in my neck, shoulder, knees, legs and feet so that is really saying a lot. The pockets on the hip belt have been especially convenient for stashing and retrieving must-have items without slowing my pace. The only semi struggle I have had with any feature on this pack is trying to get the zipper on the right hip pocket open, without unbuckling or taking it off. I've done it but it wasn't easy. It might just be a personal preference but I want to be able to access as much of my pack as possible without having to stop, unbuckle or take it off. Still, it's going to be hard (if not impossible) to convince me of a better product for this price or even more.

Exceptionally good quality and customer support
After about 2 months using this every weekend, i think it deserves a review:What I liked:a. The overall quality and materials are above the average. The strips, elastics, sewing, etc.. are particularly good and looks like it will last. You can find several quality details on the backpack, like the rubber around the zip closings and the small hole on the bottom of the backpack to drain the water in case of a leak or to help on the washing process.b. The size is perfect for me (3L).c. The bladder does not leak and stays stable inside the backpackd. The magnetic clip works for light hiking if you make some adjustments on the clip (I needed to move it down). But it does not work well in a bike road ride due to the position of your body. For this, I need to use the elastic (included) on the strip to hold the valve on a comfortable position for me.e. Keeps the water temperature for about 4 hours (winter, yes, but I live in Florida).f. The customer support works. I had an issue with the clips to close the bladder and they answered my email on the next day saying they will send me a new, improved bladder. It looks like the new material they are using is thicker and will hold the stress.g. No leaks on the line or on the valve.f. The bladder handle is a nice feature. It helps you when adding water and to clean/dry. They have a small and clever accessory to keep the bladder open to dry, but they send me it to me with the replacement. I couldn't find it to buy @ amazon and will be very good if they include this as a standard accessory with the product. The cons:a. My bladder had some closing clips that broke. They sent me a new one. Looks better and I will update the review later if I find new problems. For now, I will keep the 5 stars.b. The valve has no cover. As i do Gravel Bike and MTB, a cover is necessary. I had to buy one and adapt

This hydration pack is phenomenal!
I rarely write reviews but I'm so impressed with the Mazama Tumalo Hydration Pack that I'm going to do exactly that.I increased my jogging mileage significantly this year and needed to switch from a 2 litre hydration pack to 3 litres. I also was searching for a hydration pack with compartments that wrapped around the front so that I could store my fueling gels instead of having them in my pockets which was annoying.I'll start with those front compartments which I thought would suffice. This is the only negative comment I have although I blame myself as I clearly didn't study the images well enough because when worn they are rather small and aren't easily accessible as they are more so on the sides than the front. However a storage belt resolved that issue.Other than that I have been thrilled with this hydration pack. My first run with it was 20 miles and I had no issues. It is very light and supremely comfortable. Besides the weight of my preferred liquid hydration I barely notice I am wearing it.One of the best features that I had not personally seen before is the magnet on the bite piece that connects to the magnet that goes on the straps and can be moved to different positions which secures the tube in place. This is genius. Typically I have a drink tube flopping around and hitting me even with part of the tube secured to one of the straps or I have to cut it short to avoid the flopping around and then I have to strain my neck to get fluid. The second best thing is the spine on the hydration bladder which makes it so easy to pull out of the pack to rinse and dry after use and to return to the hydration pack for use. That's a game changer for me because with other hydration packs I was lazy on cleaning the hydration bladder after every run because there was sucha hindrance to removing them. There is also plenty of storage room for not only your keys and phone but a shirt, jacket, hat, food and other items such as my Noxgear Tracer 360 which I store after it gets light out on the morning. It's a lot of space!I hope they don't do so, but they could easily charge double for their hydration pack. It is a great value!
