This is required reading for coaches
I have been a full time coach for twenty years. This book has delivered more value for me than any other book on coaching. Presence-Based Coaching is taking me to my next level of mastery as a coach, as a mentor for new, as well- as experienced coaches, and as a human being. I have already utilized some of the practices for myself , and I have applied some practices working with my individual clients and client groups. The practice on page #120 is especially powerful "Sensing the Qualities in the Field," for helping a client raise their self-awareness and stay more connected to themselves in challenging situations. I have facilitated it like a guided visualization. As an ICF Assessor, I recommend this book for any coach applying for their ACC, PCC or MCC exams.

An amazing book!
I bought ‘Presence-based coaching’ and ‘The mindful coach’ by Doug Silsbee. Both of them are wonderful and I am grateful for the author’s generosity in sharing his coaching experiences, insights and wisdoms which greatly contributed to my success in earning the PCC. I would highly recommend these books to anyone who love mindfulness and are pursuing coaching as a profession.

Good for aspiring coaches
As someone aspiring to be an effective coach I found this book to be very helpful. Particularly with the neuro-linguistics aspects of coaching, i.e. body positioning, activities and all in relationship to coaching. As a story teller I also appreciated the didactic presentations being supplemented and "enfleshed" with narratives of actual coaching situations. For coaches that wish to incorporate somatic awareness and the desire to be fully present with their clients this volume is a must read.He offers wonderful exercises throughout the book, many of which I used, some, alas, I did not. But they are helpful for the learning experience they provide.

A Great value book
Not so easy to talk about this book. I was taking my time to read it because a lot things are making sense for me. So I would like to feel them or practice some. A great book for me, a sum-up of what Dough has experimented with clients, result of a lot of work. This book is well built, and requires more than one single read. A great value book.

Great Source for Knowledge and Practice
Superb overview, appealing to my mind and heart. Wonderful activities and practice opportunities for ongoing growth. Potentially required reading for coaches-in-training. I developed presence over the 15 years that I've been coaching, but I can't help but wonder: how would my coach being show up if I had started with this solid understanding and intentional practice?

Very thoughtful, reflective and provides useful excercises
For those who like the eastern approach to management, this book will be familiar. For those who are caught up in the busy-ness of management, this will provide an alternative approach and help you develop resilience for a changing environment and sustenance for the long haul. It is meant for coaching but i am not an executive coach but a manager who found it very useful.

Important book for coaches
It was a meaningful book for me, and I believe it will help me and other coaches to coach clients on thier way of being (which is much deeper than the doing).

Doug Silsbee's writing is as eloquent as his speaking. This is a must read for all who wish to achieve mastery in the art of coaching, as well as those who seek to be presence based leaders. I particularly appreciated the examples of application to realistic leadership and coaching dilemmas.
