I decided to undertake the task of updating my flowerbed which involved taking out the old border, making it taller using retaining wall stone and making it wider. Oh boy. It goes around my wrap around deck which is big. I had to put in paver base and tamp it down. No way was I doing this on my hands and knees using a brick so I ordered this tamper. What a lifesaver. Easy to use and you can adjust the height. Would highly recommend.

The handle kept coming apart. I spent more time putting the handle together than I did tamping the cold patch.

If you are looking for a heavy duty tamper this isn't the product you want. However to use for tamping a pavement patch it works great. Only complaint is that the bottom where the tamper attaches to the pole it tends to loosen easily and has to be twisted tight after each use.

Got to use for the first time, worked great on packing the ground with little effort.

The problem with this product is that the stick is multiple pieces that click together. This is a tamper, the tamper is heavy. The handle comes apart because of the weight of the tamper which is extremely frustrating. It did still get the job done, just with a lot of stopping to put the handle back together. A tamper SHOULD be easy to use, but because of this defect it is not. It's fine, but I wouldn't recommend this, spend your money on one with a solid handle.

This tool is supposed to be for heavy work. The handle is very weak and light. It good for packaging and shipping but not for the job it's needed for.

The handle wouldn’t stay tight throughout the project, only compacting a 9’x11’ space. It broke into the bottom piece and the tool is now unusable. This was its first use.
